Yes, Praetorian Guard. I get what you're saying about your solo shenanigans, and I keep trying to do just that, but I find that I keep trying to do tactically sensible things like interrupt captures and make a push into A on Olipsis when everyone is sitting up in the wall with their thumbs up their arse. Rarely ends well for me. If you've found a way to make solo work for you, stick with it. Couple of points though: It's not so much that they won't butcher you, cos that certainly happens, but more that A) there is someone else for them to butcher (Thanks Viper and Aroka!) B) that someone else could butcher them instead, preventing them from getting to you in the first place, and C) having someone cover a flank means you can afford to ignore it and focus on your killzone Not trying to be harsh, but that's a learning curve for you and your squad. I've found the PG guys reasonably good at keeping my fire lanes clear, and I've gotten pretty good at stopping shooting when I need to. Getting into some dirty CQB can help fine tune your trigger finger. I've had mixed success with that approach. Works really well when it does, is suicide for no gain when it doesn't. I do enjoy leading a proper push like that though. I've been meaning to take a look over there a bit more. I ended up tucked away once, keeping a couple of Plasmas busy on the roof of A. They had to run over and dig me out in person
Because the TT gives concrete details about the factions/weapons/vehicles/etc. etc. in the WH40K universe that without results in a game with WH40K skins, due to not having statistical similarities with that which exists within the WH40K universe. The TT is only imbalanced because it is incredibly difficult to balance multiple, highly in-depth factions against one another and maintain perfect equilibrium. They do care about balance, which is why the TT is always being updated and adjusted. The design should be focused around good design with the TT as a guide so as to create a WH40K game. If you are killing enemies you are supporting your team, because now your team has less opposition to face. The difference is the suppressor actually killed his target with his weapon because that target decided not to remain in cover. With the game's current improper class/weapon/etc. etc. statistics, without artificial suppression, victory is more likely to go to whoever starts shooting first. Cover gives you time to react. If you are getting shot, take cover. The game needs way more than just a change to artificial suppression as there is no one single mechanic that makes the entire game. It is great that you play the HB that way and manage to get some use out of it. Unfortunately, it is meant to be set up in a high position behind/flanking the main force so as to rain shells on the enemy, forcing them to take cover so they do not get hit by any of the shots and thus get injured/killed. As a counter to the Heavy Bolter's typically ineffective CQC usage, bE could allow players to sacrifice their Bolt Pistols, which should be effective CQC weapons, in order to improve their HB, such as by reducing or removing the ready up time before shooting. It could be a package deal that also sacrifices the Combat Knife in return for some manner of bayonet on the HB, increasing its melee damage. If using the Pistol/Knife removes the move/turn speed decreases caused by the HB there would be incentive to use them over always discarding them to improve the HB.
Attacking the enemy from the flank or behind, is for a devestator, that is slower than the other classes, rarely possible, on your way to the flank you may encounter a enemy, and because of the ready time of the HB you will lose that encounter often. If the HB would not have a ready time, like a normal LMG, it would be very effective in flanking. But i heard that the devestator team should put the enemy underfire while the Tacticals go in an kill them. I think when the weapon mods, and other customization whe Dev will have some option how to defend in melee.
I was talking about firing from the flank or behind your allies, which would cause them to be suppressed by artificial suppression but would not without artificial suppression, which would be a good thing because being behind your front line makes you less likely to be attacked by enemy players and is therefore a place you want to be, especially if you can find a height advantage to rain shots down on your enemies as your allies advance. The HB needs the ready time so as to reduce its CQC effectiveness and its effectiveness against the squishier factions. As a Devastator, I would prefer to also be killing my enemy with my team, rather than just shooting at enemies so my team can kill them all. At that point you are no longer a Devastator with a powerful anti-infantry weapon you are a Chaplain casting a spell of protection over your allies with bullets, magically causing enemy shots to go astray. It's like how with the Sorc I feel like the Medic from Team Fortress 2, with my time better spent attached to an ally with a special weapon so they can accomplish more than we could if I was helping him murder and was healing him and myself up after each fight. Agreed. Mods have a lot of potential. Once the Dev gets their Bolt Pistol and Combat Knife they should be able to defend themselves in melee.
Oh i see, sorry i must have misunderstood you. Well that supression thing should be fixed. The devs talked about how the supression effect will in future not effect your Allies. With the Patch that will mostlikely come today, the damage of the HB will be increase i think it will be enough that it feels right. Even know it feels good to supress enemys and geht the points for it.
supression in future will work like a debuff that need to build up. ally will be more resistant to friendly suppression and need more time for lose sccuracy
