I won't begrudge fans of the ultra grim dark their stories. I'm not saying just delete factions like flesh tearers from lore entirely. In fact i think there is a lot of potential for very interesting stories involving them and other imperial forces. The wh40k universe is massive though. There is no reason there can't be good stories with great acts of valor and heroism. Thats one of the reasons i like salamanders best. I really like black dragons as well, and that didnt stop them from sacraficing a planets population to get a massive weaponized planet powered by blood away from the imperium of man. At least they were remorseful about. Not every faction has to treat humans like cattle that periodically need to be pruned back with a flamethrower. Also funny that you mention game of thrones. I also hate that franchise and refuse to read it . Its all preferances. I hate super depressing books. I read to escape not become more depressed about life. If i could find a wider variety of reviews on books things like this thread would have never happened. I never would have read wrath of iron if I'd known what was gonna happen in it. Btw safehold series is a really good grimdark series with silver linings.
If only his favorite faction could have been orks...i think that actuallty would have made fewer people angry.
