Orks shouldn't even have to reload if they believe their weapon has ammo... "dakka dakka buff" anyone?
Man, I hope this prevents the really annoying "trying to shoot the kannon just before the reload finishes resets the reload entirely" garbage.
Yss I think they wanted to fix this kind of problems and not nerf ranged. There could have been another way like some other games do this. They just let the reload be finished before the visual indicator (circle) tells you the reload is done, because most people shoot a bit to early.
There aren't many games that implement partial-mag mechanics. America's Army is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
I like the idea once the reload has been started you can't fire till its been completed. But is able to be interrupted. Also would like to be able to reload whilst moving not just a stationery animation. All soldiers are taught when to change a magazine even on the move in a fire fight.
All of you RL boffins also need to remember that if you reload part way through a magazine there will still be a round in the chamber. You dont need to be a soldier to know that. If you want games to be the same as RL then understand fully what happens in RL is all I am trying to say.
Gotta commit fully to that reload or swap to pistol. More tactical decisions mid-combat is definitely a good thing, regardless of the melee vs ranged debate. This will apply to melee class pistols as well.
