Firing Doesn't Interrupt Reload, Was the Change Really needed?

I meant more the fact that the reload can be interrupted just by tapping the sprint key. So while it's an indirect nerf to ranged (which I'm actually fine with, it makes more sense that the reload has to go through), you can just tap the sprint key to interrupt the reload which just kinda...ruins it.

So...should we make the reload animation persist through sprinting to force through the reload, or should we just keep it as it is. I'm kind of interested in what melee players would prefer out of those two options.

  2. It's not perfect solution but is is a step in the right direction IMO.

If you're sprinting or rolling sure you're interrupting the reload animation but you're not scoring headshots with a weapon that theoretically has no magazine(because you're mid reload and interrupting the reload animation via pulling the trigger).

  3. Actually it does change things because you're having to sprint or roll instead of being able to instantly shoot a baddie in the face when you have no magazine in your weapon.

I'd say that once you start a reload your magazine is theoretically "removed" and until you finish the reload your weapon is dry. So if you roll or sprint to interrupt the reload and melee, if you survive the melee you still need to finish the reload.

Not sure who suggested it but i saw it somewhere, but the answer woulda been at reload, dump the remaining ammo to the pool, and make the gun empty at reload. Meaning you have to either pull backup weapon, or finish reloading.

Haha at post above mine, beat me too it^

Also a Video somewhere showing the speed at which the sprint can interrupt, and its near instant. Not really any change in Reloading to shooting again. Not like you need to "move" to stop the reload in that case, just a button press.

  5. This seems like the fairest solution.

Being "locked' into a reload animation isn't fair or "believable" per say. If you need to roll away from a grenade or an incoming Power Axe you shouldn't be locked in a reload animation. Though once we start the reload animation the magazine should be considered removed and weapon empty until we finish the full reload animation.

So basically if we come out of a roll or stop sprinting AFTER interrupting a reload and try to fire our weapon the mag(that we were removing) will be considered removed from the weapon and we will just hear "click" because our weapon is empty until we finish the reload.

Going to be alot of Forward Vanguard tactics now, force enemy to free-fire. Send in the melee! Wreck the ammo-less guns all over the place.! Rejoice Melee.

  7. +1

Much like you read about in the novels. Astartes wait until they hear the enemy reloading a Bolter or heat being vented on a Plasma weapon then charge.

Litterally laugning my ass off at that.

Dramatic movie preview voice: "Just when you thought it was safe to reload, a wild snorlax lumbers out of nowhere, rips your arms out of their sockets and beats you to death with your own ammo clip" - This summer.

    Love it.

Ork Mechanics should totally bypass this rule.
