I play with Black Widow Company, a competitive gaming syndicate that is active in multiple MMOs and online games. I am a founding member and the leader of that group. We will be playing Space Marines in Eternal Crusade.

I am also a member of the Twenty-First Legion and the Obscurus Crusade, cosplay and costuming communities centred around Warhammer 40K. My Dark Angels Space Marine has been featured on a number of websites.

Nice armor, I'm planning on buildidng myself someday, but I think that I'll start with Kasrkin armor (I'm more into IG). I'll be playing Space Marines untill the release of IG and I also have a blog about my GW miniatures (just some amateur stuff, but I do my best), if you want to look at this just go on mdf40k.blogspot.com I hope you'll like it :)

Thanks! I'm making another one for my son for Halloween.

How do you make them anyway? What materials did you use?

That one is made from fibreglass and weighs about 75lbs. My son's costume will be EVA foam. My next-gen costume will also be EVA foam, and will weigh a fraction of the gen-one.

Nice:) I have a pdf somewhere around on my laptop with short tutorial on making a SM armor, but I don't have time and money... Ahh, maybe some day? How long does it take to make one? And how much paint did you buy? I know that it wouldn't be Citadel Paints :p

It really depends on how much work you put into it -- I spent about five months, day in and day out, looking at all the different ways people did their armour. I looked at embellishments, methods, extras, the works. My first suit took about a year, and that was basically a day here, a day there the week after. I also wasted time experimenting with various build materials.

My son's costume will be done in under ten days, from the first cut to the final wipe-down.

Paint: Depending on what type of piece it is, I alternate between outdoor varnish and krylon spraypaint. I use the exact same colour by the exact same company and it seems to all be relatively uniform.

Well, thank you for such wide answer :)

now I only can only afford to paint and assemble GWs miniatures, I don't even have space in flat for such operations :(
