The 80s were a hell of a drug.

Not sure why they just don't retcon and slap some female marines and shut the debate up forever. Though I still am confused as to why Marines get Tumblr-level triggered when you mention female marines. Does it like hurt their sense of masculinity? I highly doubt it, but it seems like it.

And I am sorry, but Sisters are not equal to Marines. They simply look... bleh. And GW keeps neglecting them too, I mean really. That one post earlier about the marketing focusing on just boys now is most likely why. Which makes the issue worse if that is actually why.

The idea to "just retcon it" is terrible, and the reason why is the answer to your confusion:
    Continuity is SACROSANCT to nerds.

The debates being made to the retcons about the C'Tan are STILL GOING ON TODAY, five years later
  5. Because that retcon would effectively throw out approximately 30 years of established lore.

That's why the debates already over, and it's a no. Get over it.

It most likely will continue. Forever.

Ehh, they retcon all other fething stuff. So all those 30 years of established lore can and will be shifted if they so please. At least thats what I think. But it really does seem like a reverse Tumblr when I see it mentioned.

maybe I missed the point somewhere, but given how likely difficult it is to engineer genetic augmentations that integrate to one type of genetic expression, why would you need to complicate it further to also have a version that adapts and has to compensate for females' expression when in the end you will practically always prefer to recruit males over females (given the notable developmental advantage) and have the latter birth more instead?

to have twice the numbers is not an acceptable answer since the number of marines is tied more to the elite nature of their upkeep than the available recruits.

I always thought of it this way.

You could have female Space Marines, sure, there's little-to-no reason not to.

But just because there's no reason not to, doesn't mean there's reason to.

Besides, nobody's begging for male Sisters. Sometimes the status quo is fine as it is.

It's naive and short-sighted to think that a female subjected to the same exact genetic enhancements as a male would end up looking mostly the same. The differences between males/females would either cause the female to reject them and die or would enhance different portions of their anatomy based upon their genetics. Yes, the gene-seed does alter the person's genetics but is still dependent upon the core genetic compatibility, as differences there will cause different end results.

If there was gene-seed that could be used to make a viable female Astartes, the proportion/size differences would likely be akin to the difference between typical Marines and their newest depiction in Dawn of War III, allowing one to relatively easily tell them apart.
