I was actually being mostly sarcastic. Personally, I don't care. If it fits the story and/or universe, then it's good, whether male/female/neither/both. I think a big problem with the whole "equality" line of thought, is that people try to force it on just about everything, even when it doesn't belong, or there isn't really a problem, they just aren't familiar enough with the product.
Yet none of those games have made it to the MMORPG level. So, that renders that arguement irrelevant. This is a game where you are making your own character not playing the role of an already premade character with his set characteristics/personality.
I think a lot of it is we are taught from a young age that females are nothing but victims, and that anything that isn't 100% male/female is sexist and evil. By speaking out against it we are fighting a grave injustice! Most guys in the other hand are able to deal with a lot more without much bother. Let someone make an ENTIRE MMO with only females and see if there is any sort of outcry. Probably not . Too many times people see a vast conspiracy of the patriarchy when they don't get what they want and fight to make everyone bow down to their will. It's a good show!
But you are making a character in a world with predetermined lore and rules, to change that for "equality" is childish at best. If a female "loves" space marines and wants to play one than they obviously had no problem with it being an entirely male faction on table top. But I have a solution, I see the argument about how bad women armor is in mmos and how they always are made to look slim and "Feminine" so we make them look exactly like males and give them a female voice.
Actually you don't "make" your own character 100%, the lore dictates where that character comes from, so you just take over control at some point.Sure, there are decisions you have control over, but there a "preset" environment... Much like the restrictions based on factions...it's not like you can choose to play a human member of a craftworld...or a dark angel joining the space wolves... There are games that allow for a 100% free generation of a character...but when you choose to play W40K, you go with it gives you, or you make your own version of W40K...much like what that copycat company did...

No need to break the lore because few players want female marines. Also if you feel genderly insecure about your self it doesn't mean that the lore needs to be rewriten so that you can feel better about your self. It's a person matter that some of you need to deal with and should not effect this game in any way. So just please stop this topic already.
Basically fem guards and sisters are good an all, eldar and de are all right. The only problem is if the Guards and Sisters going to be with the space marines or as their own faction.
People have been mostly talking about Tau, Necron, Eldar, and IG in this thread. I don't know why you think any of that has to do with "lore breaking" or why you feel the incessant need to come in here and tell everyone to stop talking. Why do people who don't want to participate in the discussion keep coming in here trying to shut it down like some sort of thought police lol?
finally someone who makes sense. Getting tired of people who cant read the first post yet come here to say "no female space marines" or " I'm not sexist but there shouldn't be any females except IG and eldar". A lot of we can point out problems but don't care enough to find solutions. If you guys actually read WE DONT WANT FEMALE SPACE MARINES. We are looking for alternatives to make factions include both when plausible save orks.
If you like, an answer to my non female SM related post above, would be appreciated...because I think the problem here is way deeper than just including female characters to factions...
