Do you guys agree that factions like IG and Tau could use some more female representation in the art and lore? Answer honestly, I'm curious to see what the average 40K fan thinks of stuff like this
Those two? yes IG needs more showcasing in essence, as for tau they need some art love showing the differences a bit more, does not need to be supermodels but at least normal.
Eh, I don't really have a preference one way or the other as far as that goes. IG probably already has the second-highest representation of females in 40k's two-gender factions (this of course is deliberately excluding Space Marines, Orks, and Sisters of Battle, since they have certain rules and limitations), I'd guess only the Eldar have more. GW generally does a pretty good job of presenting the Guard as the closest thing the Imperium has to an equal-opportunity employer, with notable and recurring female characters appearing as both officers and enlisted. Now, unlike the Eldar we don't have any female miniatures that I'm aware of, but there are ways around that. The Tau I can't really offer an opinion as I'm not terribly familiar with their extended lore or notable characters.
Apologies then. But I will reiterate for the new people to the thread. I don't want female Space marines or anything that outright violates lore. I merely trying to with the help of others in the community find ways to make this with factions featuring both genders where lore allows. I.e. for imperium if you pick male you are an SM if you pick female you are a SoB.
Well, some factions simply don't have a gender option. Space Marines are always male, Sisters of Battle are always female, Orks, 'nids, and Necrons don't have visible genders ('nids technically might have genders, but we can't tell the difference by looking at them) though I guess Necrons might be able to pick male/female voice packs while their model stays the same. Let's face it, in video games, gender is generally cosmetic. Some factions lacking that cosmetic option, whether due to an in-universe policy or because they're aliens/fungus/robots is not a terribly big deal. Kind of like how Necrons wouldn't have a hair option.
Oh look, it's a guy who entered the last page and told everyone he didn't read the thread Then he complains about poor posting Interesting
Yes, I thought it was kinda cool they actually bothered to put a female character in space marine, I mean the IG is the entire friggin human race, and should have MUCH more female representation than what is standardly shown today. Same thing for the tau, but I agree that they need to make the line between male and female tau much more clearer.
