Unfortunately, there are going to be threads popping up all the time asking for female space marines, and things like that. Some people think that just because a mythos is brought to a MMO the lore should be tossed out and it should become some vanilla mythos because everyone has to get what they want or the game will fail. Game Workshop cares about what it does and the 40K story. They are not going to do stupid things in an effort to please everyone. I think we have all seen games where the developers try to please everyone. It just results in a bad game that pleases no one. Having said that, female gamers are just as important as male gamers (I shouldn't have to say that but I will). While I obviously don't think they should throw out the lore to allow females where they aren't allowed, I wish they had offered a wider selection of female options. Allowing a Dark Eldar faction, IG, Inquisitors or Slaanesh Daemons would have allowed more female models. I understand they want the game to succeed, so they picked the most popular races. I think people wanting more playable female models are going to have to do what I'm doing for Imperial Fists--Be Patient and wait.
Exactly, we wont be getting the Death Guard on launch (even if the 5th legion to be chosen involves god specific choices, they are like 3rd in popularity). So wait and be patient is the lesson of the day.
People seem to mistake hermaphrodite for female. There is no female Slaaneshi Space Marine. Or Male. They're hermaphrodites mostly. Slaaneshi him/her/it self is changes gender on will and such. The only 'true' females are in IG, SoB, Eldar, Dark Eldar and Tau. Plus I think some Tyranids are female since you have some named female titles like "Harpy" or "Crone". Plus the Dominatrix.
If i recall all that is people making random hot tau, i recall a /tg/ thread where a picture of a female and male tau in a trench was posted. They were basically the same with only the markings on the head to differentiate them (as in both ugly ).
All Tyranids are genderless, things the Harpy, Crone and Dominatrix have misleading names :/. There is a Tyranid that stays on the ship and pumps out more Tyranids from biomass, but even then it still doesn't mate or have eggs to fertilize. It just takes biomass and makes what the swarm needs like eggs from the Hatchelry in Starcraft, except it takes the role of Abethor, in that it does gene-splicing as well.
I hope we get to see chaos sisters (of battle) in EC. Supposedly only one sororitas ever turned to chaos willingly (and became one of its greatest champions) which I've always found a bit strange. I know they're fanatical but that's still pretty impressive. Even so I wouldn't mind seeing a few of them amongst chaos in EC! But what do I know, I'm a huge SoB fan haha SoB don't get nearly enough presence in the lore and when they do they get ritually sacrificed by Grey Knights lol
