Feels so bad trying to play ranged in this melee game

    And this is why I don't feel like total scum for using say the plasma cannon. Also the multikills.

    Suppression needs to slow the targets movement. I think this would solve this problem pretty effectively.

    I think it's pretty alright, actually.

    Try loading up some of the more close range bursty-weapons like the storm bolter, if melee enemies worry you. If you see them coming, aim quick and get a headshot or two, they should drop juuust before their lunge hits you. If you miss a lot or are blindsided, they are going to hurt you, and they should.

    I think it's actually not badly tuned.

    Stack stamina as a ranged class. Hold down the fire button after rolling to pop off a couple shots. Clang/dbash, roll again.

    Point is, it can be done, and reliably so. Also, go for headshots. Don't try to land every shot as a headshot, but keep your spray in the general area.

    Yeah ranged game is total crap, but if they make ranged weapons fun to use (as in, no needing a full clip to kill someone) the melee will probably become redundant. Well they could have at least made the melee not absolutely retarded gambling thing and buff the ranged characters melee to compensate.

    Also i belive this "oh melee class should always kill ranged class in melee" thing is absolute bullshit. They should make the light weapons used by ranged classes competitive with the rest of the weapons and increase the weapon selection for melee classes so that they could use light weapons as well, give melee classes more health imo.

    I think dire avenger has a longer&faster roll than a tac. I've noticed i almost always hit with a fast attack on rolling tactical but almost never on eldar. That is if i do a heavy attack immidiately followed by a fast attack.

    Maps are just screwed.
    Every damn objective placed in closed area... making fights very chaotic and melee focused.
    Also too many objects that block line of sight completely. And there is always way to outflank enemy. Basically hard to find any safe position as ranged class.
    It doesn`t mean ranged classes are bad. Most heavy weapons are really deadly and lighter weapons also could be used with good effect if you are experienced. But game is clearly favouring melee classes.
    Another point to the long list they should change. Unfortunately I doubt they will. Every new implemented map is following this outline.

    Since I pretty much always play heavy classes I always assume I'm dead as soon as they close range so I throw a grenade down. Actually I try and throw a grenade down since the button never seems to respond, possibly due to this "net code" I keep hearing about, so the grenade is usually thrown too late and blows up long after I'm dead

  10. Am I missing something?

    Melee classes should win a vast majority of the time when they close the gap versus a ranged opponent, just like a ranged opponent should win AT RANGE a vast majority of the time versus a melee opponent wielding a Bolt Pistol.
