Dark Angels! Glory to the First Legion! (However, not to sound heretical, but I do prefeer the Black Templars the most.)
I voted Space Wolves, since there arnt Black Templars in...The "Eternal Crusade" thats intresting. (A crusade without Crusaders..)
The Wolves and the BA are fine, but they will never hold a candle to the pure badassery of The First Legion. And I hate the Ultrasmurfs, I mean have you seen that movie?
If that's your only reason, that's a pretty bad reason to hate the Ultramarines. The movie was shit on all aspects, bad plot, bad face design, ugly textures, though i did like the armour design personally, looked like something that could actually be worn in combat rather than the bulky power armour that is always seen in 40k imagery. But it's far from a good reason to hate the chapter as a whole.
Fair enough, I just find the chapter to be so basic and boring. Most of the other original legions had their own unique thing, like the wolves being crazy vikings or the Night Lords sadistic fear tactics. What do the Ultra's have? In their defense I have not read any books specific to them nor have I looked up much about them so this may just stem from my own ignorance.
Their thing is to be jack of all trades and master of none, the Ultras are what you would consider your vanilla marines because they do not excel in any one field they are very good in all kinds of warfare though i suppose you could consider their "thing" to be that they strictly adhere to the Codex Astartes but eh. But this is still not a reason to "hate" them, i mean sure you can dislike them but hate is a bit too strong of a word to be used in this circumstance.
Hate was a strong word and I admit I shouldn't have used it in this scenario, and as far the jack of all trades thing goes I guess I never really considered that. Maybe I'll do some looking around and educate myself a bit, but I do hate that movie.
Blood Angels for me. Always liked them since way back when I first stated playing the board game at 14-15 (13-14- years ago). I originally only liked them because their Chapter colour was red, but when I began reading about the Chapters history I began to like them even more: Their curse, their loyalty (even though they are not completely trusted as much as other Chapter), their resoluteness and especially with the nobility and loyalty Sanguinius had. Of the other Chapters I do like the Dark Angels and Space Wolves but I've never really been interested in the Ultramarines, they've never really stood out to me like the other three Chapters have in the past.
