Considering that everyone loved writing for EC, I am here to challenge all writers anew. But I make it more interesting. Because I will give more requirements, so that also the results are closer to one another. Furthermore there will be a top 3 per category. And then there will be a community vote for the top 5 (the 1st per category) to determine the ultimate winner. So brace yourselves, because here comes - your requirements: ~~ OFFICIAL UPDATE - Major Rule Changes (changes are applied to Original Post as well) ~~ #1 - There won't be different categories, just a ton of fan-fics about Arkhona #2 - No definite Time Periods. Write how you picture Arkhona, if it is at the start or at the height or anywhere else of the war - does not matter. #3 - No boundaries on any faction or sub-faction whatsoever, write about who you like and have them do what you like (this means you can write about Tau as protagonists, etc.); still please don't write about Squats ^^ #4 - Non-English-Languages (We got judges for German, English and French) still will be judged even if it will be difficult to measure it along with non-english ones. This means a German story theoretically could win over an English story. #5 - The Grand Prize Winner still will be elected from the top 5 stories - by the community. The Grand Prize winner gets a pioneer pack, the 4 follow-ups get 10k RTP each. #6 - PM me your story or send them to eternalcrusade.contests@bhvr.com #7 - Deadline: January 31st 23:59pm Eastern Time #8 - Word Limit of 3000. #9 - That's all! Old Outdated stuff: #1 You must choose one of these 5 categories about you then will write about: A: Space Marines B: Eldar C: Orks D: Chaos E: Tyranids This choice will represent the protagonist of the story or the point of view the story follows if you will to say so. #2 Unlike to our EC story, the Factions are free to choose and include everything that will or will not be in Eternal Crusade. So once again: Imperial Fists, Mymearans, Emperor's Children, etc. allowed (just no Tau or Dark Eldar and stuff). The Tyranids so far I believe have no name, therefor coming up with Hive Fleet names is legit. #3 The time your story plays at. Unlike with the original story contest, you will be able to choose from these time periods: A: Arrival at Arkhona (so basically that the descending to the planet will be the epilogue) B: Battle for Arkhona (your force is deployed for at least 1 day, max. 30 days already and is fighting a lot!) C: Coming of a new foe (your force is deployed for at least 3 months, max. 6 months and a new foe arrives... [Tau, Dark Eldar, etc.]) #4 and last requirements: 3000 words - Just submit your stories via PM to me or via E-mail to: eternalcrusade.contests@bhvr.com Deadline: 31st December 2014, 23:59pm EST. And that's about it. And before you think "uhhhh everything for nothing, all that effort for nothing, why should I even start writing?" Then let me tell you this: There will be victory claims. But the cool thing: It's Secret. I already tell you: I won't give founder packs away. But I tell you, the winners (rank 1 of each category) and the ultimate winner (the winner of community vote between the rank 1 of each category) will get something that might just be worth some effort. English is a requirement I fear - for the joy of everyone. But I could get Baronskuff to rate the french version... and Savij the Germans.... But do it English for now; you still may submit the original. I will do my best to get multi-lingual judges ^^
Well, OK, so I think I'll have to warm up my pens and fingers, but here I come! If anybody needs a French to English translation, just knock at my door, I already translate the questions for the dev team
You may find it funny, but I find writing in English easier than writing in French, although French is my native language
I am German, so I have a similar experience, though it depends on what. I.E. I just know the terms in Wh40k better in english than in german so it is easier to write for me. But to write let's say a romantic letter or so, is easier for me in german because the language is more fit to it.
