While the Luddites are simple, they are by no means primitive. They have domesticated beasts of burden, medicine from plants, and a centralized government. Runners and smoke signals are used to convey news from across their kingdom of Northwest Illinois. They're basically reinventing the wheel. A reset on human progress, pure of old world values and greeds. They see convenience as weakness. Their highest values are on cooperation, self sufficiency, and combat prowess. Every farmer is a warrior, every healer is a teacher, and every knight is a priest. Only those who are truly devoted to the ideals of Lud can become a knight. Leaders are elected and represent the various settlements. Only those brave enough to stand before King Lud are worthy to speak for their people. If a representatives is foolish or weak, Lud kills them without a second thought. So they have few politicians. The Hands of Lud is not made up of humans. They are the kin of Lud, who could not find the peace Lud had promised. They would sooner die, fighting those who would threaten all Lud has created. A place for their kind to call Home. Spoiler I'm a little conflicted on their origins. I know Lud is a massive first generation Super Mutant from the master's army, but I'm not sure if they're the only Super Mutants in the Chicago area. I want to include behemoths, but I think that's only seen in the East Coast. Might be that I just give the Luddites catapults. Could you imagine an army of spear wielding Luddites showing up at the Enclaves door, demanding they throw down their heretical weapons? Lmao
Then die they shall Bark's programming most likely has super mutants under actively hostile anyway with orders to kill on sight I know Pool's hot wired to purge them with extreme predjudice, so there's that too.
That's more than a possible outcome between the two groups. However, unlike everyone else in post nuclear America, the enclave DO have the right to say they've earned the use of their technology. Most of it was built by the owners of the tech and improved upon by their descendants. Maybe a common enemy of a techno-barbarian army invading could convince them to cease aggression against the Enclave? They value strength, you just need to prove you're strong even without your weapons and tech... lmao. View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hdLzAglMSB0
Frank can beat the crap of them with his shield and police baton if you let him. (strength 10 for days!)
All he needs is a little FEV and a sword and he can challenge King Lud for the Throne... I want to see this!
Well, they're a Monarchy Which is the opposite of Freedom Which is the opposite of Democracy So they may as well be Communists, and they'll share their fate Directive 7395: Destroy ALL Communists. Bark may have some use for that line of code.
Why use messy genetic mutation when some experimental bionics and built in weapons can have the same effect? Plus it would give Arthor something to do in his spare time besides playing around on his pipboy.
They have a form of representative democracy, and they're very proud of their ability to rule themselves. Lud is mix of a military leader and high priest. Those who pay homage to Lud and live by his laws are free to do as they wish. The only real reason a rep is chosen to meet with Lud is usually over land disputes, to present new inventions for scrutiny and to ask for aid against external threats. The human followers of Lud take his teachings very seriously and have become more aggressive because they seek Lud's favor. The more Lud favors a settlement, the more likely they're to florish with his Kin's aid.
Huh, Fallout is essentially the ultimate future Senator Armstrong was going for Burn everything, start from scratch, the strong shall thrive and the weak shall be culled A world where might makes right, the people are free to fight their own wars, power is determined by strength not committee. In the post war future, Armstrong won. Right, that's all well and good. But there's one tiny issue. Bark's Intelligence is 1 So they're Communists
