And that's the problem-even when loads of people all say the same thing, mods never do anything (On all MMOs).
I dont see a real problem with no faction lock, but if people really really want one, than make it last an hour or two max, if anyone tries to review the game, it will take them forever to do so with the lock.
In planetside 2 occasionally in rare circumstances innocent people get banned. Streamer ScourgeoftheServer got banned twice from planetside 2 and he is probably the best player on that server. Both times because everything he does is recorded that stuff was overturned. But yeah it zoomed right by me lol.
Scourge got banned for allegedly aimbotting. It was all straightened up with the help of twitch tv. I believe now Scourge is the all time killer for the Connery server with well over 180k. The dude is a freaking hero elite legend.
Yeah we shouldnt shy away from mods that can ban the trolls. This I think will be an important tool to keep cross faction griefing limited.
Devs could play as some kind of Uber Lictors - hop in, eat the face of would-be-trolls, hop out. It would take care of the problem in a (somewhat) lore-friendly manner and at least I find it highly humorous to see badmouthers getting their badmouths torn off.
The Devs should arrive in a method appropriate for the faction. For Instance... if some @hole is spamming music and blocking doors at the hub... A dev should arrive and crucify him appropriately for whatever faction it is. An inquisitor/commissar/Arbites would be good for Imperium. For Chaos there are numerous creative things that can be done without the Dev even having to appear. "Foot of Gork/Mork" for Orks... And any Eldar being dipshits can be labeled as "fallen to the Dark Mother.. er whatever they call Slaanesh" and then they can be purged.
