So far we've seen Chaos vs Space Marines, which consists of only 2 factions. Soon we'll be seeing Eldar, and then we'll be seeing Orks. So here's the simple question: Will the fights still remain 1 on 1, or will there be all vs all, with eldar at one spawn, chaos at another, etc? This is a -big- selling point for me, and it's why I got involved with the project in the first place, and nothing pleases me more than some classic 40K storyline where multiple factions get brutal with one another, at one time. I don't mind if SOME maps are 1 v 1 (with the factions varying, of course.) But surely some will be all v all? Thanks in advance!
This has been answered a few times, but to save you searching; There will be 1v1 - though there can be 'allies' - so you could see Eldar & SM vs. Chaos - but it will just be 1 team against the other, not three teams.
Well shit. That's not what I was expecting... I guess that will change if they (ever) bring the open world map like Planetside.
pretty much, they were saying something about having battles of 500 players which i doubt would be only two factions, later after launch when the techs good i think they might have 4 factions against each other etc
Whilst I don't know whether faction free for all matches are planned or will be implemented it will certainly be complicated and interesting as you'll need maps balanced for multiple factions with spawn and control points. Then consider that these maps represent territories within the global map, control of these territories will be fluid so while making maps is "relatively easy" having 3 or for 4 factions in the right place on the global map may not happen that often. I'd like to see them but even if they're possible don't expect them to be regular. Though it's possible they maybe incorporated as some sort global event style thing that the devs instigate. Please note my post is wild speculation.
I really hope to see huge battles between every faction at once. That would shake the map up and bring alot more strategy to the game.
