I have yet to see one legitimate argument to why there should not be f2p classes for ALL factions. It always breaks down to " muh original concept" . The TRUTH is marine players would LOVE IT if half the ork population was undergeared/terrible garbage. The fluff always shows them tearing thru groups by themselves, and they get a game boner thinking about how "skilled" they would be beating 5 on 1 in this scenario. They have no interest in what is fair, just what would get them off.
It was originally "postponed" when they made the decision to go from open world mmo to... What we have now. So yes very interested back then. Counter arguement: do you want shit quality steamroller matches, or would you prefer more work done on the woefully incomplete eldar/orks to actually garner player interest this making more matches?
So as a primary ork player who has paid for this game, what compensation do I get for this slap in the face when suddenly the faction I enjoy playing most becomes f2p? If this isn't across all factions I don't see how it'd work and if it messes the faction up as much as I think it will I'll mess with steam and get a refund.
I will repost a reply I made in the founders lounge since not every has access to that forum: All will be revealed in due time (next year). Rest assured the designers are doing what they can to make sure the gameplay and balance of the game doesn't change for all the paid "premium" players. The only thing you should notice is a higher population. You won't have a bunch of gimped accounts running around on your team or the enemy's team. I know it's hard to wait for the full details and that can lead to "the sky is falling" posts but before the plans, features and dates are announced we want to have everything in place so we can have real answers when you ask questions.
Just a thought, it may be a really good idea that only founders can post in the founder area but EVERYONE can view it. With this upcoming news it would be a bad idea to alienate players on the forum, especially when a lot of information is posted in the founder area.
awesome so non founders really are classed as a second rate EC player .. well played devs well played .. FUCK the founders lounge now the GAME is LIVE, FULLY RETAIL we do NOT need a frigging super silly founders only forum, keeping info from the non founders is a pretty dumb thing to do... how any are actually in the founders forums and actually play the game? more than on here or do they sit on their soapboxes cheering at everything the devs do / curse them for bugs etc? in EA / alpha i could kinda understand a founders lounge but now? no its a old fashioned smoking room for gentlemen and no one else .. outdated and BS scrap it and let the founders AND devs communicate on the same page as the rest of the playerbase. Stuff like we ARE going F2P is a big deal with this game, because afaik and many others this game had that VERY SAME feature canned but now .. shocker its revealed in code that you are going to go F2P somehow and the 'normal' forum people do not hear about it until a dev posts a quote FROM the friggin founders lounge .. sigh .. and i thought this company was supposed to be good at communication, as in crystal clear ...
I think (don't quote me) the founder lounge was hidden was because UAT was under NDA and that was the only place people could talk about it. Now that anyone can go on UAT having two "general discussion" forums doesn't make as much sense although access to a founder only forum was one of the bullet points on the becoming a founder list. I'm more worried about finishing up all my holiday stuff right now than I am about how many different sections the forum should have.
This seems counter intuitive to me, how can the population increase without us noticing either gimped accounts or at the very least noobs running around on a faction? I'll wait to hear more and thanks for the info, I'll just say what I said earlier; I really hope a f2p model it is spread across all factions so as to be fair and equal. I will not be happy if the model remains "Free to WAAAGH!" aka Orks get shafted.
