F2P Element confirmed

  1. give them all base classes
    half their XP/token/RTC gain
    show them how much they could earn when they buy the game

    and we would have free 2 play

  2. I know what you mean and im also against f2w.

    The match waiting problem could be solved like in Planetside 2. "Members"(in our case we) are getting prefered in the search. Like: 50 F2p guys in queue and you come in and immediately get the first places.
  3. The day they cripple the ork faction with f2waagh is the last day I play. Someone else can watch my faction burn.

  5. Oh you can't see how F2Waagh could possibly be detrimental? How about we change it to F2Fortheemperor then. Then you can deal with crippled incomplete classes on your side, and people with no investment stealing your rhinos and driving them into lava, shooting you while you cap, ect.....

    With regard to locking classes, I occasionally play Orks, and since I'm very low level, I tend to use the pre-set Shoota/Slugga. My matches have gone fairly well so I think the f2players will at least have fun. I think the trick is making sure they can level high enough to get anti-tank, medkits, etc.

    As for infinite queue, the Orks would have to outnumber all three factions combined. No offense, but I don't think EC will be that popular even if free.

    As for overwhelming noobs, I am concerned. As a loyalist player, I think we bear a lot of that burden when the game goes on sale, and it is a pain; but, it eventually settles down. If EC is always free for only one faction, that'd be concerning.

    I would propose the Heroes of the Storm approach and rotate the free faction, perhaps with consideration to player count and ongoing campaigns. This will definitely incentivize people to buy the game, keep bringing in new players, and shift the burden of dealing with noobs.

    The difference between level 1 and level 3 is huge. Losing access to your character every month and having to switch to another faction will pretty quickly get people to buy the game. Thoughts?

    1. Orkz were always the side destined to be playable for free, to balance the overpopulated loyalists.
    2. I did elaborate on the issues concerning classes, in my previous post. EDIT: that's on page 1.
    3. Judging by how often I get teamkilled when I'm playing my Ork, I'm not so concerned about new players.
  9. I do lamet the fact they decided to go with spheze mehrenz and elfdar, instead of stuff like guardsmen, ork boyz, and something like Tau. It's just silly having swarms of space marines and eldar throwing hordes at each other. It'd even give a bigger oppourtunity for elites and stuff, as you could have stuff like ogyrns, mutants, and all other sorts, while still having things like terminators and what not as mega elites.
  10. 1. That was originally the an WHEN THE GAME WAS TO BE OPEN WORLD. A lobby shooter where one team is paying advanced characters vs the other where half are undergeared/class limited/f2p trolls is extremely unfair. Now how about an organized guild vs that?

    2. Did not see page ones post at the time of writing that.

    3. Ork team kill excess comes from poor design/implementation of equally poorly thought out features. Only side with poison grenades? Too bad your own team isn't immune. Hand held rokkits? Let's make them wildly inaccurate past 5 feet. Poor mans power fist? By the time you actually swing it 3 people from your side could have run in between you.
