Hello there, I've just viewed the current concept and have but one simple question to ask
Is the game going to live even for a year on such terms?

I mean, yeah, we're going to see lots of F2P Boyz for the first couple of months. But, hell, even Russians won't play it on such terms for long.

With one of the factions becoming nigh extinct after half a year of project life... The project would die.

So, why not turn the concept upside-down.
With each faction having a "F2P zerg class"
Space marines do have scouts or even neophites (which is more awesome, because Black Templars fit into the 40k universe better than any chapter)
Chaos has their Cultists, Eldar have Guardians (storm guardians)

That way F2P players would be distributed between factions and when they become extinct, the project would not suffer that greatly.

And yeah, the game would require strict Quota. On amounts of Space marines, Terminator armours and high-end wargear.

    Warpman out.

Black Templars are the true representation of Grimdark universe.
No "valiant smurf" or "space mongol" or melta-loving Salamander can match the zealous and in many cases reckless HtH lovers such as BT.

So, It would be great if BT would be here, not the codex chapters.

I don't understand. You're implying that if a faction sees no popularity or activity, the game will die, therefore a radical change in business model is required? Considering we're 2 years from release, I don't understand why you came up with this theory.

  5. if all would have a free to play option then we would have like 60% spacemarine or even more

i think having the f2p horde for the orks is the best way to have real 40k flavor in this game

  6. Agreed

We dont want to give the F2P players too much, buy the game if u wana try the other races or dont enjoy being mown down by devastators constantly.

I just cant wait to jump into melee with about 4 ork boyz and destroy them entirely. With the bolter and the chainsword brothers!

The problem lies in the fact that you're not "becoming a space marine"
Each newcommer is already a formidable opponent (except for orks. killing a single SM requires at least 4)
And that feels immature. There ought to be the gap, no. a CANYON that separates a newcommer from a seasoned Veteran.

I consider becoming a True space marine is a challenge upon itself.
Getting new organs and modifications until all the 19 stages are complete
And the last drop being the POWER ARMOUR.
One does not simply become an Astartes.

The same goes to Orkz, because much fightin' an' shottin' is required for you to getz' BIG
Aspect warriors also don't get born like that. So a Guardian that undertakes a long and winding road of self-understanding, strict training regime and training with the new weapons with Aspect armour being the last part of initiation...seems more fit.
And chaos space marines... I don't really know how lore-wise they are made. I suppose they fight each other and the survivors get the right to get flesh-moulded and augmented.

Quota is the word, I suppose. The orks might have none, but having a thousands upon thousands of Space Marines sounds awful

  8. Because screw saving imperial citizens above all else.

Screw being not just conquerers but administrators that guide humanities future.

Screw striking from the shadows, hitting your enemy fast, hard and disapearing

Screw rapid response and fast attack

Screw building the fortifications that save lives

Screw experimentation and transcending of flesh

Screw a chapter that embodies everything noble about humanity- as well as everything savage about it.

Screw a chapter that is on penance 24/7

Screw a chapter that you can trust to get the job done no matter the cost.

Maybe in YOUR vision of 40k it's just about crusading 24/7 but in mine its the pieces that every chapter contributes to the whole.

Way to promote hatred amongst the community.

    ...

You do realize this is still a game? I don't want to have to spend a year or more trying to get my gene-seed implants and then my power armour.

I don't see how you could think this is fun.

    No they don't.

Pretty much what UltramarineChapterMaster said, I don't have anything to add other than that i agree with him.

BT should really be included. Just because they are cruel bastards.
