The game is going for massive scale battles, so the devs need to accomplish a workable detail to scale ratio. Battlefield 4 can accomplish an extreme level of detail in models and textures because the largest battles will take place across large maps with 64 players. EC is striving for 1000+ players on a map larger than any of Planetside 2's continents with no limit to battle size. Optimization will be a large focus of the devs, as it still is with SOE (Because PS2 still performs terribly).

  2. Good point BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
  3. There should be an option to make it very basic, for bad computers (like mine) but also an ultimate graphics setting (for million dollar super computers!). :)

What about battle damage. Do u think they will implement that into the design? Torn armor and bullet holes and blood.

Morphing armour is a definite no, not even Frostbite or CryEngine support it. Impact marks from incoming shells wouldn't be difficult and would make sense.

the interview mentioned the graphics will be like space marine, albeit better.

Space marine graphics were awesome. Even though they weren't the best, they were very consistent. I also have to give the game an A+ for particle effects. I would be happy with space marine level graphics as long as there is a lot of detail/variety in personal customization (where it really matters). They are going to have a few more years (YEARS) to work on the game so im sure it will look great at the end

and i hope more immersive, . . although war is on every corner, we can blow things up while still enjoying the view.
  9. YES I do agree watching a small building filled with enemies exploading would be most satisfying!

Space Marine graphics were okay. I agree, the details were consistent in both character models and environments, although I do have some bug bares with it. Textures were blurry (they looked stretched), poly was noticeably low on lots of curved spaces (Like the Space Marines themselves), environments were often very bare and lacked colour. I realize it's 40K, and a war torn manufactorum, but it's almost as bad as Gears of War in terms of the colour pallet.

As Steve Lumpkin has announced the different Biomes, there will undoubtedly be more colour, and more detail in game.
