Execution / Finishing Move

  1. First of all please excuse my bad language i try my best but im not a native speaker.

    After seeing some pre-alpha footage i`m really looking forward to this game. But there is one thing that makes me worrieing, these are the finishing moves especially the ones with the Chainsword.

    1. The Chainsword is a cuting weapon, its not meant for thrusting.
    2. Even for a Space Marine and the Chaos Version of the Chainsword it is pretty much impossible to thrust through some one, espacially if the one is armored
    3. It`s unplausible that a Space Marine (LIVING WEAPON/ELITE SOLDIER) would take time to finsh somebody in a half a minute move.

    My suggestion, make the Chainsword finisher a cut in the head or neck if u really want fancy finishing moves. But if u want it to be plausible just let him shoot at his head. But please I beg u don`t use this stupid "Ram the Chainsword into Armor" move. If u want some technical details why it is impossible for a Chainsword ask me if you want.

    1 & 2 I think that thrusting with a chainsword is more 'rule of cool' than representative of what would realistically happen. In saying that, the armour over the stomach isn't as thick as the ceramite plate that covers the upper chest and could provide a weakpoint in which to thrust into.
    3. I think that the executions are designed to be showy finishing taunts than a quick method. Shooting a downed opponent is both quicker and safer than locking yourself into an animation. Once EC gets more executions it'l become more obvious than it is now. They are also planning on having a wide selection of finishers to choose from, so quicker ones may be available in the future.
  3. This is still Pre-alpha, so alot of things are going to change.
    The animations for executions are just placeholders, they will look way better at launch, there will also be many more of them. (Hopefully a different execution per weapon.)
    The speed of the executions will also change in time, they should be a bit faster at launch.
    Any problem with executing will be solved during the alpha/beta.

    I have to echoe the hope that executions will be faster, or at least have the chance to "quick execute", so I'm not bogged down for 10 seconds while I perform a fancy decapitation.
  5. executions are just for the style right now
    you don't really need them

    but as you can read in my execution brainstorming thread, I had the idea to have 3 different speeds of executions
    slow medium and fast
    which one is activated depends on your health status
    100%-50% slow
    50%-25% medium
    25% - 0 fast

    this way the devs have more freedom in developing execution moves, they can get more money cause players can have 3 times more executions in their loadout
    and its more logic cause you won't play much with your victim if you are near death yourself
    and we may add some buffs to executions so they are not just style anymore
