Eternalcrusade And Roleplay

    I'm not understanding how PVP in PVE is stupid... So while on the battlefield your fighting and Enemy (NPC or Player doesn't matter) and while fighting said enemy a third group (Opposite of that ever the first enemy is so NPC if you were fighting a Player or vice versa) appears ... Do you think that that third party is just going to sit back and watch? Now granted a smart enemy would wait to pick off the winner when their nursing their wounds but not everyone plays like that.

    This is WAR! Not some children's game were everyone takes turns... If you cant handle the heat get outta the fire I say... (For that matter you could have specific server like they do in WoW where PvP is disabled unless turned on a player by player basis since its never a good idea to tell your player to suck it up or leave >_<)

  2. This is a PvP Game though, the entire point is that its a player driven game about player conflict. You should not be able to fucking gear up for PvP through PVE. You should not be taking development resources from the PvP in my opinion as it will make the core gameplay medicore (as had been proven in countless past games)
  3. Also as was stated, this is a PvP game the PvE is at best an optional extra not a completely different and viable style of play like in other mmos

    I'm perfectly fine with people getting ambushed on the surface while fighting 'Nids, that's ok. But down in the tunnels, which are made to be instanced NPC dungeons, I don't see the appeal, and frankly I think it's stupid. Like I said, some people prefer PvE to PvP. And no, this is NOT a PvP game. This is a WAR game. It's driven by Conflict. Yes, that involves PvP, but it will also involve PvE. And both types of gameplay contribute to the ultimate objective: winning the Crusade and taking over the planet.

    As stated, PvE contributes to this through artifacts and protecting supply lines. PvP also contributes to it via territory control, and stopping the enemy from killing the surface 'Nids, as well as taking artifacts the enemy has secured from them.

    But you can't make every area PvP like that; instanced tunnels should be strictly PvE, both to be fair to PvE'rs, and because your own faction can just as easily do your own dungeon to get your own artifacts. There will also be safe meeting zones, where different factions and leaders can meet to discuss alliances against other factions. That's neither PvE nor PvP, but it could be considered roleplay, especially if done IC.

    Look, the developers have said this is a game that they want to be as immersive as possible. Which means catering to the people who want to be characters in a role. I can show you the video of the Executive Producer saying exactly this.

    Immersive as possible? Sounds like your accepting the idea that if heavy PvE instances are implemented, they'll hardly be instances and be open for the enemy to also walk into. Otherwise you'd break immersion if they couldn't do that.

    PvE should definitely be there - and it will add to an immersive game. I concur that there should be PvE instances that have little to no risk of enemy players intervening, but there should also be the opposite.

    ex. both sides lose contact with forces in a munfactorum and send reinforcements to recapture it. Two factions deep-strike/send forces in for the same purpose near simultaneously. What they didn't know is that it has been overrun with tyranids. Epic.

    There should still be the opportunity to do some survival type gameplay/dungeon clearing with just your buddies, and not have to deal with some enemy running at you shouting "for the emperor" over and over
