OOC: I'm waiting for the map before I can do anything big.

Orkish raiders went back to check the wreck of the crashed thunderhawk, PDF recovery crews were already there but they got chased off by bikas and warbuggies. However they had done the smart thing and blown up the engines to make sure that it couldn't be used again. Still, the scrap metal would come in handy at some point.

OOC: Thought I might also do this just so you guys know.
    Total Mek Losses
    10 Battlewagons
    500 assorted boyz
about 50 dead orks in every group of speshul boyz
    100 trukks
    10 Kans and deffdreads
    Total mek forces now
    50 battlewagons
2750 ork boyz( spore cocoons have started to pop)
about 200 speshul boyz of every kind
    enough trukks for the boyz
    90 kans and deff dreads
    3 looted thunderhawks
  2. Yea, having a map would be nice. Right now i'm poised to piss off the Tyranids... hehhee
  3. OOC: Hey, there still room for any astartes?
  4. always!
  5. OOC: Awesome, gonna throw together somethin' fun. It seems the Imperial City needs more activity, huh?

  6. I'm awaiting to toss my lot in. We will be assisting fellow Astartes in a strategically vital location. Upload your character and await to see if you wanna be in the City or the new battle front. ;) Do what you want, i'm just giving a suggestion. :D

OOC: Regards Black Legion trait it is this one:

Son of Horus - Pure hatred against Loyalists, especially Sanguinius' Legion as he was the one who made Horus vulnerable and is ultimately the cause of Horus' death. There is no mercy for the Blood Angels! (Fights more determined and less likely to retreat against them)

~~ Ultramarine Strike Force in Access Tunnels ~~

"Stay on guard and get the Teleport Beacons ready!" The Captain said through his vox, his weapon high and ready, knowing that the Tyranids are already planning their downfall, but he would give them a good fight and prepare the battle for the first company. If the Successors of Cato would fail, at least Agemmans troops would obliterate the Tyranids.

Every Ultramarine in this company knew it was vital to eliminate the Synapse creatures and everyone would do their best to do so, reinforcements were only planned by the first company while the Blood Angels, Dark Angels and Space Wolves would take care of the forces outside. Though in the inside he hoped that anyone of them would ignore the orders just enough to decide to access the tunnels from another entrance and take the Tyranids by surprise.

Just as the beacons were put online the Captain gave the command to attack, the first Assault Squad on his side right and left, they launched forwards, the second Assault squad right behind with Tacticals and Devastators in the center, getting rear-guard assistance by another Tactical Squad.

Also to prevent ambushes a Scout Squad outside the tunnels was observing the area.

OOC: Since the Ultramarines aren't player controlled (sort of) or even named mostly, I'm not going to give them the privilege I normally do with enemy forces.

The walls broke the last defense, and a rainstorm of bolter fire poured through, striking down the gaunts and warriors from the front. Alpha raised his weapon, and venom shots struck the first of the warriors pouring through, the particular acidic properties of his weapon melting the armor and flesh beneath. The screams of the dying were particularly enjoyable to listened to. The other tyranid forces followed suit, and living ammunitions flooded the chokepoint, bouncing off power armor or penetrating here and there. With a roar, Alpha surged forward into the Ultramarine forces, genestealers and other melee heavy units following, and behind them the heavy range carnifexes entered the fray. Bone swords clashed with chainswords, deathspitters against bolters, and the fight was on.

At the same time the Lictor made his move. Appearing to the world, he struck down the guards immediately around the melta charge reserves, but not before allowing them to send a distress message to the nearby units. Immediately a squad descended upon the stealth killer. Flesh hooks answered the bolter fire, and one by one the Warriors of Ultramar were dragged to the Lictor and stabbed to death. Yet the Lictor did not charge out, and finally his patience paid off. One of the astartes pulled out a grenade, and tossed it to the Lictor even as his brother screamed "NO!" A flesh hook spitted out and caught the grenade mid air, and chucked it into the pile of melta charges. The Lictor scrambled back into the depths of the tunnel, his camoflagued back up, looking to rejoin the main attacks.

The explosion could be felt through the entire mountain, by every force near by. The entire tunnel entrance collapsed inward, preventing the scouts outside to join the conflict inside, and trapping those underground from any escape. Meanwhile the teleportation beacon flared up like a fire at midnight, attracting the attention of all nearby tyranids. At this point at various sections of the tunnel used by the Ultramarines, hundreds of tyranids burst through from nearby tunnels, led by trygons, recently upgraded by Alpha to become synapse creatures. Every squad fought for their lives, isolated in individual battles. The squads defending the beacon were fell upon by at least 4 dozen genestealers hordes. By the time they killed all of the infectors, they turn back to see the teleportation beacon swallowed whole by a passing mawloc, along with several of their battle brothers.

The Captain felt exasperated as he struck down another trygon, causing the nearby raveners to be confused and easily cutted down. He looked around, and there were no light else from his own troops. The darkness seemed to not affect the combat effectiveness of the tyranids at all. He yelled for his personal envoy to keep cutting down the synapse creatures, and actually begun to push the tyranids back. Just as he was about to charge another warrior, a bone sword swiped and forced him back. Turning to the source, the Ultramarine leader looked up into Alpha's towering figure, after bisecting one of the terminators guarding him with ease.

The Captain roared and charged, swinging his chainsword with speed and skill only managed by someone of his rank. Alpha blocked it with one of his scything talons, and brought his own bone sword around at the Captain's head. The astartes rolled under it, and cut upward unexpectedly. With a scream of pain, the scything talon dropped to the floor. Smiling, his confidence raising, the captain yelled some words about his corpse emperor and surged forward, determined to strike the killing blow before the Hive Tyrant Prime could recover. Yet he didn't realize that Alpha had planned his own injury. Raising the heavy venom cannon, the chainsword sank into the range weapon, getting stuck there. The Lashwip came around, wrapping itself around the Captain's waists and beginning to crush the astartes to death in his own armor. The captain fought valiantly, pulling out his combat knife and stabbed at the lashwip, but he could do nothing as the bone sword ripped through his chest. Holding the dying leader high with only his bone sword, Alpha gave a cry of victory before allowing the Lashwip to rip the Captain in half before tossing the body into the crowd of rippers, who wasted no time to devour the body. Saving only the brain for himself, Alpha consumed the mind of the captain, gaining his thoughts.

Just now, the Lictor reappeared next to Alpha. The missing scything talon had already regrew on the Hive Tyrant Prime (Kerrigan style), and the two watched as the rest of the Ultramarines made their last stand. Seeing their leader die, the warriors of humanity had redoubled their ferocity, killing more and more tyranids than before. Yet even to lose 100 tyranids for the death of one of the astartes was acceptable losses, as the biomass would not be lost to Alpha. The flamers that the interlopers had brought proved to be a problem at the beginning, but one by one they grew dim as the Lictor found their owners, silencing them in the darkness. There were simply too many tyranids for the Ultramarines, as they ran out of ammo and were fighting with chainswords, chainaxes, combat knives and even their bare hands. Yet one by one they died, as the last one was melted to his waist by a shot from Alpha's cannon by their last standing banner. The Hive Tyrant cut down the foolish flag, and surveyed the situation.

Many of the synapse creatures near the middle of the attack were killed, but there were more than enough commanders at the fringe to fill their places, not to mentioned Alpha's overwhelming presence among them. Around 10 tyranids died for every astartes, but it didn't seem like it. The rippers were overwhelmingly effective at their work, and most of the bodies were devoured before the last astartes had died. Empty armor and equipment littered the ground where the battle took place, and the full rippers now headed for the regrouping sections. Alpha gave a single command and the rest followed, regrouping deeper in the earth to follow the earlier army. The Trygons collapsed whatever tunnels they had dug up before, leaving only the large, now blocked off tunnel, intact. Alpha sent a single message forward as his half of the army set forth.

    Rejoining. Now.

    2nd Army, Zoanthrope Leader

Rejoining. Now. The Zoanthrope received these words as the last of the forward army cleared the area even remotely near the mountain. The now billions strong army of lesser creatures surrounded their prize, and it as they continued their southern march through the newly constructed massive tunnel. Now that they have put some distance between themselves and the rest of the armies of this world, the leader slowed the pace of the army, hoping it will allow Alpha to reinforce them faster. The Zoanthrope wasn't afraid of the traitor queen, yet he knew the massacre that would occur should she attack this army before they make contact and rejoins the loyal Hive Fleet above. The Zoanthrope rechecked the concealment cloak around them, and decided to personally oversees it. They must not be discovered for now, as they have numbers, but not the combat capability to fend off a determined foe.
