because they don't hide stuff behind marketing curtain, so who know how it works or is close to people that work on that stuff understand.

the other just post random stuff like "here my perfect balanced version of the game that dev can't create but i can".

And what I don't understand is why people think that on launch day, which still hasn't been set/announced, the Devs will say, "We promised a WH40k PS2 hybrid, we've delivered Battlefield:40k. See ya, bye".

There will continue to be grand dreams and teasers and hints. That's what creative people do. They come come up with ideas. They also share them to generate interest and hype. Then, in the game industry, they try and make them happen.

Will there still be broken promises? Sure. Will we ever get everything that was promised? Maybe, probably not. But, I believe those that "think that suddenly at launch, a switch is going to get flipped and suddenly there wont be any more delays and broken promises after launch" in reality don't think that, so much as accept that modern video games are forever a work in progress, and they enjoy what they have now, and remain optimistic about what the future holds.

Concur on your final statement too. Perhaps that is what happened. Perhaps not, we don't have insight into what happened with Miguel, and that sort of internal corporate business is NOT for the public. However, Nathan is getting "it" done, it's just the "it" is releasing something as opposed to a never ending development cycle.

    reality check.
steamspy says peak concurrent players yesterday was 205.
checked these past weeks couple of times, not once did it even approach the 300.
    facts.

people like Kharn: "yeah but you know, game isnt finished yet, balancing etc.!"
what devs actually say: " launch is just flipping a switch, we dont know when we launch exactly and even when we do launch we will continue to work on the game."

So the way this game is right now, it basically is going to stay like this for the foreseeable future, sure it will be optimised, maybe more polish, better animations, whatever.
But the core mechanics stay the same.
lobbymatch after lobbymatch with no deeper metagame or true strategy to it.

If you think that somehow EC will jump to 10k players concurrent i think you're in for a rude awakening.
Tried to convey this view time and time again, only to be drowned out in white knight nonsense posts.
Sticking around to see the QQ once launch has taken place and the slower brethren will catch up.
That way ill still get my money's worth of entertainment.
    ;-)
  5. My idea can be little bit off topic but I paid 30$ for early access and I already played more than 60 hours. Do you know any entertainment activity 60 hour only for 30$?thats enough for me. I think you guys should be calm and that's only a game. If devs want more money they should make better game and attract players and this is not our problem. My main advice is get a life and focus on more important things about your life :)
  6. Steamspy also says game has almost 60k owners. I'm pretty sure a lot of them will have a look into the game again once it's released. I'm also sure new players will enter the game. If we end up with more or less than 10k concurrent players, I don't know. I'm hoping for at least 40k ;) , but I guess only Time will tell. I don't think we even need 10k or more to have enough players to find good matches all the time. The often referenced Planetside 2 for example hasn't peaked 10k for over 2 years and is hanging around 4k at the moment.
  7. The Devs don't care....

Man, these forums look like a salt mine.
Just take a break and come back when the next patch is up.
And maybe, just maybe, read what you are agreeing to, the next time you put money into an early access game.

I find it interesting how these people still have a job.

Imagine being responsible for even a small project. Imagine having it fail, for whatever reason. Then imagine saying to everyone "hurr durr this is software development shit happens things fail don't complain just be patient you ignorant nerds". I can't imagine that. Your reputation would be ruined. You would be the company's walking joke.

Information technology is spreading extremely quick. Many people understand what, how and why software is being built. It's not a black art anymore. It is very accessible. More and more people can see through your bullshit.

Also there is a fundamental difference between expecting something and accepting it. You should expect many IT projects to fail. That is just smart planning. Be prepared for what happens when shit goes south. But accepting it? Nope. I mean this is a behavior that isn't only correlated to your professionalism but to your adult life in general. How can people just sit there and accept shit while pretending to be some kind of industry experts is beyond me. Oh wait no it isn't. We are talking about gamers here, the species that you could spoon feed them shit down their throat and they would still give you money.
  10. I'm not sure we have the same view on EC. For me shit didn't go south. For me the game isn't shit. It doesn't have everything that was promised (it's not even released), but that is because promises were made that everyone salty now slurped off the spoon without sniffing or looking at it closer, first. Everything in Early Access can change. That's the risk you take when you buy into early access, and that's what you should expect!
