  1. The inquisition is just acting stupid and foolish as usual.

    Lets see Brother !! ;)
Even if out there are many Ultra haters,i could really like to see the reason,(Matt Ward?)from where ever it comes from !
But i dont think is the proper thread for it:rolleyes:
  3. When the imperium of man team up with the eldar will probably be the day the corpse emperor dies and you find yourselves asking why!

  4. People don't like the ultramarines for various reasons.

First and foremost appears to be because they're the poster boys and are essentially shoved down our throats.

Their empire doesn't fit with the theme of 40k. It's one of hope, and order and progress.

They were changed from being rather minor to being the one most important elements of the Imperium.

Mat Ward didn't help their case either with his recent work on codex space marines.

Basically their entire case has been mishandled by GW big time.

Also, they're the most boring and literally by the book of all the Chapters. No unique gene seed mutations, combat specialty, preferred enemy, preferred weaponry, or purpose other than following the Codex Astartes as rigidly as possible.

Despite this, they have from 4th edition onwards received a significant number of unique units.

Yes some of them were refined and made available to anyone else using their codex (let's face it, the current codex space marines is essentially ultramarines with a few extra special characters letting you have other chapters.)

They get all the toys and none of the disadvantages.

The codex astartes might as well not exist with all the deviation that GW designers are allowing them.

You can be certain that in the next book they have access to stormravens, much like they have the land raider crusader (which used to be a black templars variant limited to 0-1 for anyone else) as well as anything else the next designer comes up with.

They have one personality flaw which gets totally ignored.
    That flaw is pride.

And if there's one thing that heroes from all the epics have, it's a flaw.
People would probably have less issues if the Ultramarines were actually flawed.

Dark Angels: the secret of half their legion falling.
Blood Angels: the black rage and red thirst.
    Space Wolves: their bestial nature.
Imperial Fists: need to punish themselves for any failings (eg: pain glove)
Raven Guard: their mutations and limited number.
Black Templars: their hatred of psykers.
Iron Hands: their inhumanity through giving themselves over to the machine.

All the other chapters are flawed. This is what makes them heroic.

    The Ultramarines quite simply aren't

  5. I for one have no true problem with the Ultramarines; but I see your points and I know they are valid.

Wait.....how......NOTHING HAPPENED ON CALIBAN! *Smashes into Dreadnought chamber.* REMEMBER THAT!
  6. Nothing but the destruction of Caliban i guess
  7. *Screams of rage erupt from the Rock* I give up. *Holds hands up.*

In my opinion,to be perfect(?) is the worst flaw(?)

To refresh memories, after the Horus Heresy,it was the Ultramarines that held together the Imperium until mankind could regroup, and will state my words cuz, they were the largest chapter and were subsequently broken up to found newer chapters.
Not to mention that they did miss most of the Horus heresy action, cuz they were credited with the destruction of a large Chaos reienforcement, headed to aid Horus !
While speaking of boring gene seed (Boring gene seed??:confused: ) ,that of Ultramarines,is the most pure, there is really need to mention that some chapters choose not to infest their genetic lines with corruption and deviation ! Instead of that, they choose to stick to long held codes of honor and chivilary !!
The righteous steadfastness and strict adhearance to the code of the Ultramarines,is glorious and honorable in its own right, and that right, for some others is probably "wrong" or do not fit good for any reasson!

"If you know both yourself and your enemy, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him !
I do not have something more to write, cuz will mess up the curent Thread !

P.S.1. Edited Once cuz i couldnt resist ! (I own 5k points 2nd ed. values, in Ultramarines! They are my firsts, and still favorite)

P.S.2. Grey knights have the purest gene seed in the galaxy ! (That makes them Boring? )
  9. This thread is already messed up

  10. ever think of just asking the "fallen" brothers to just come home under a white flag and just talk  who knows maybe the "fallen" are really loyalist and the ones claiming to be loyal are really the fallen:eek:
