Elite power

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by b0ink7, Apr 29, 2017.

?

What power level should elites have?

  1. Straight up more powerful

  2. Roughly the same but slightly unique features/stats (seems to be the current path)

  3. Only cosmetic, anything an elite has can be equipped by a veteran

you are basing this on their old campaign design ..they distinctively sad 2 or 3 weeks ago they plan to fully change how this system works.
This game has obviously been designed from the ground up to not be a F2p model and it still isn't really.
RTC items are to be the rewards for playing over multiple campaigns.
With the option to buy them early for monetization reasons.
if you can't see that ur just a short sighted dumbass.

    Respectfully disagree.

There should be a free Elite (one that costs req) and an RTC elite. The RTC elite is just a skin for the free elite.

    For example:
The files showed Sternguard Marksman and Legion of the Damned for LSM. Make the Sternguard the free elite, and the Legion of the Damned should be a cooler looking one.

Of course this wont happen, as that would be too much work for the devs. So we get the current system.

What kind of poll option is number two?

It's not entirely the current path. For all the faults of the CSM elite, at least that one has some unique features. What does the ork kommando have? It's just a worse slugga nob with a cool appearance.

Call me back once their new system is in game and it speeds up the process.

If the devs just want to make elites skins, and not p2w, or a upgraded version of veterans, make them customizable. Just a kind of skin for veterans. Because right now there is no incentive to buy elites, not even by their skin, because you cant equip them what you want.
If warbosses are also going to be skins for veterans, make them customizable.
If you want to make warbosses better than elites, and elites better than veterans, there should be a f2p option. Because Nathan says so, and I don't he will change his opinion.
The only way to make elites worth without making a new elite system, is to make them customizable.

They could opt to make them viable and unique instead. I imagine a LSM Elite to be the librarian, a beefed up sorcerer wannabe that provide new and interesting things to the faction, while remaining somewhat effective compared to regular veterans.

F2P players can't get the RTC rewards in the first place, unless they go premium.

From what i understand it has an EHP that is directly unattainable, along with a zip slugga that has 40 more ammo that is also likewise unattainable by a normal veteran but isn't really more powerful or weaker then a slugga nob built as close as possible.

Well, of course it would be better if elites are unique. Just like the ork commando, that he can be invisible. Or the aura effect that they talked about the possesed marine.
But I don't think the devs want to make elites and warbosses much different from veterans, which is a shame.
But as you said, I hope they change it in the future and make them more special.

Elites are, by design, just fancier looking Veterans. They are NOT supposed to be direct upgrades, and the devs have said as much.

If you don't want to buy it, don't. Stick with your normal Vet, because they're just as good (if not better) and can do pretty much everything the Elite does, but with the option to CHOOSE how to do those things.
