Looking at his new accessories, he shook them a little to hear the metallic clinking chains. "Hehjinglejangle." he said to himself before the man shook his talon and everyone else in the group. "Oh, mynameisJacktoo! Hi!" he greeted the man, surprised by the coincidence. Then when William started talking he nodded in agreement with what was told. It was better to go down this route than go through whatever champion the Emperor will pick out. Possibly one of his thunder warriors if they were really unlucky. But when Alicia started teasing information about the future he started to get a little nervous. @Maleth "Doyouthinkthisisagoodidea? Whatifthingsgetworseforusiftheythinkwe'relying?" he asked her, getting fidgety in his seat at the idea. After all, what sane father would sit there and listen to the idea his sons were going to be taken away and then later turn on him and mortally wound him? Especially his favored son?
"Remember what happened last time Jack, the timeline reset itself so that anything they found out about us they forgot. If we do the job right we were never here. Although maybe we should tell them things that don't involve their ultimate demise?" He whispered that into the comm-link built into his helmet, hopefully at least a couple of the others would be able to hear him without the Imperials hearing it too.
~~ Luna - Interrogation Chambers ~~ "See, that is kind of the problem here... Where do you have such knowledge and how did you get here, with apparent knowledge of thousands of years from hereon? We all saw the footage of your teleport into the nursery. And while you appear to be allies, we are not aware of any task force outside of the Sol system. Especially not such a merry band as yours. So you must understand that we cannot really trust you. All this information and no origin? Wait a moment..." He leaned back. "Don't tell me you are like a mix and match troupe like those that according to rumors Malcador is planning to put into action. What did he call it? Indo... No... Indep... No... Inka-si... No... Mhh.... Anyway. He is the only human I could imagine to be able of teleporting and he had the plans. So if you belong to him, I suppose I will have to contact him and confirm. But go figure how long that even would take..." Was the Brigadier-General talking out loud to himself, or was he actually giving the group some hint? ~~ Chrono Chambers HQ - Osiris ~~ @Vulpas "Ah my newest arrival... I am glad you could... Find the time." The female Necron would have chuckled, was humor actually part of the remainder of her person. Then again, how much of that personality was left in the metallic shell her soul is entombed now? "Forgive me the... Urgent need of you, my name is Osiris. And in fact I am a Necrontyr as you have read about, played with, and so on. I fear the initial group of humans of your timeline and universe I got were not.... As ideal as I hoped. My calculations must have been off... Either way. You seemed like a fine specimen after reconfiguring my routines to more.... Capable individuals." Scarabs started to swarm at the newcomer, taking blood and dna samples before skidding off into another room. "You will be equipped with a device known as a 'Soul Incubator' it allows you to transform into individuals of this universe. So that you can adapt into the forms of Astartes, Eldar, Tau, even Tyranids and Daemons. Your psyche may be affected by such transformations but are definitely reversible. It resonates with your very unique physiology and grows the longer you wear it and the more timelines you restore. Oh of course, what are you doing here, correctly?" Osiris approached the individual named Jade, towering over her by almost a whole meter. "A Sorcerer of Chaos and a rival Necron Overlord are manipulating the timelines of this universe and I am the guardian of those timelines. You must go into different points of time and restore the original timeline. The aforementioned humans are currently on a mission to stop an Ork Waaagh at the Emperor's Primarch Project secret laboratory. As you know, the Chaos Gods took them originally. And that must happen, which the gods would be forced to do, once they notice the Orks failed. As soon as the original events occur, the timeline is restored and nobody will even remember that you have been there.... Questions?" "It'z kalled da Inquisizitian ya daft git." Gerald grumbled, clearly displeased with having to disarm himself of his weapons, "an da soonah dem slow Ork Boyz getz 'ere, da soonah we'z kan do wut we'z were sentz ta do. An da soonah I'z getz me Choppah an Shootah again, da bettah it'd be fer all of uz." This looked like a bunch of mucking about alright. If he was an Ork of greater size, he'd be able to cause one hell of a ruckus here. Probably the very reason why an Ork incursion is heading their way right now, at this point he couldn't blame the Orks wanting to smash this place good. He's been feeling impulsed to do so upon entering the place. "I wantz me Choppah an me Shootah befor da fightin' starts already! My triggah fingahs gettin reel itchy just waitin on dem dum grotz ta come by. I'z wuz promised a fight, an I aintz 'avin my fight yet. 'Ow long doze it take a bunch a daft boyz ta try ta smash a 'ummie fortress al'redee?!?"
Jade was surprised for several moments after arriving partially not believing what was happening before a prick from her leg caused her to look down and see a scarab only sit there for a moment before leaving. Seeing the Necrontyr in front of her amazed her for a moment, her mind trying to rationalize what was going on as Osiris explained why she was here. Thinking up several questions as the Necrontyr ended she prioritized it to a few to avoid annoying the being that can manipulate time in space. "I have a few questions, Why me exactly? What happens to the other humans you sent through time? and how does this soul incubator device work?." Jade asked summing it up to several questions. If she was being sent into the war hammer timeline it would likely be as dangerous as how the setting as described. "Wouldn't you also want someone with more combat experience, I mean most weapons I use is a hunting rifle and a pistol?" she asked lastly.
~~ Chrono Chambers HQ - Osiris ~~ "I will be honest. Some of the humans had to be put in artificial coma to heal. But that was due to false calibrations to teleport them out of danger in due time. While there still can occur turbulences due to the Sorcerers and my rivals activity, I am fairly certain that I can prevent it far more effectively. That said. The Soul Incubator works similar to how your very muscles. It attunes to you and allows to be more efficiently used the longer you use it, thus train it. And it is more than warriors we need. You have unique understanding, like all I gathered here, of our universe. Lastly, from my algorithm I gathered you are less likely to go haywire or be mischievous. You will do the right thing, once facing a difficult decision. I prefer, after all, to hire character. Since skills can be learned." Osiris explained as in the backroom several working noise could be heard - the assembly of the incubator.
"Don'tbothercalling, he'sgonnasaynocausewearen'tapartoftheInquisiton." Jack answered for other Jack. He sighed as he knew that even the truth he was about to tell the general was more stranger than any fiction they come up with. "Wearenotofthistimelinebutwearefromearth. Severalcenturiesinthepastearth. ANecronoverlordpickusupfromthattimelineandintothisonecausethereisaChaosorcerorandanotherNecronlordmessingupthistimelineinbigwaysandusfromanothertimelinewouldn'tmessitupfurtheraswetrytofixeverything. OnesuchwayistohaveanorkfleetcomeheretothemoonnowwhentheEmperorwasn'treadyandtakehissonsaway. Wegotdroppedhereandnowinthissituationwithyou. Itsoundsdaftbutthat'sthetruthIswear!" Jack said as he put his cuffed talons onto his chest where anatomically his heart should be at least. Now the question is if he would even understand what he just said and if how he reacts to it.
William smiled as he understood what the Solar Auxilia officer was getting at, after the other members of the group had responded he too responded to Jack's remark. his attitude had gotten ever so slightly warmer after his cold to the point speech before. 'I think what the group is trying to say is we understand Brigadier general, these things take time.' Time is what the group needed, the longer they can postpone any sort of judgement on the groups part the longer the group might last to actually see the Ork invasion if it was coming at all. Rather ironically despite him knowing there would be no way the proto Imperium forces could prepare this fast William was wondering what was taking the Orks so long to even get here. Did Osiris plan for the group to spend time getting to know the people here? she most certainly set everyone here up to get acquainted that is for sure.
"So whats the current situation that the other humans are in besides the ones that are in a coma, Can you tell me about any of the others that were sent and if I will meet them?" Jade asked curious about what was going on. "What type of decision's will I need to make and will these choices affect my world in anyway?" Jade asked wondering if Earth would be in trouble from any decisions she made while going about time in the warhammer Realility.
When the other Jack pretty much gave the team a way to weasel out of their own knowledge which was pretty much a clear sign to Alicia that he was rather incompetent at this whole interrogation lark that he was meant to do. Course, Nid-Jack then attempted to explain the utter truth of the matter which frankly, she thought was only going to get a 'WTF' reaction from the poor sod. And lose them any rapport that the group might have been built by their actions here. So Seranos said "If you discount the surly Ork who'd rather be in a fight, a deceptive, manipulative human who seems intent on exploiting flaws within your interrogation skills and the recaff-overdosed Bug as viable sources of how we know what's coming next... I think you'd be better off by just keeping me here so that we can talk about that matter and letting them three roam around the place, under armed guard of course. Somehow I don't think a man of your intellect would be willing to let those three have the run of the place without at least someone watching what they were doing." While the fake Dark Eldar might have just insulted everyone, at least this way she might stop themselves from embarrassing themselves (and her), and perhaps she'd finally be able to talk to him as a human being, not someone who seemed to be nothing more than a marionette who didn't know who was actually in charge of the whole group. That and if all else failed.... Well, at least she could likely seduce him to accepting her version of events unlike everyone else, unless incompatible orientation happened to become an issue.
