  1. "Give me a second and you'll be so full of holes we can see through you."

The moment Alicia left an opening, the Pulse rifle would swing down, aimed for wherever the field was clear of scarabs and his comrades and it would fill with pulse fire.

The Necron may walk slowly, but his arms move much faster as the rest of the group had to realize. Alicia's tactic worked explicitly fine as the scarabs did just as predicted. It even allowed one of Roberts shots to melt some of the silver paint off the Necron and reveal obsidian-black living metal beneath. Which however, phased him little. Instead once the Shard rifle came down, he simply rose his Warscythe and released a shot of the Gauss-tip into her chest, making her fly and land on top of William the Inquisitor Acolyte. The armor disintegrated but somehow her flesh beneath was untouched. Then finally Irillyth made his move. "First of all. This is a Prism Rifle, not a Brightlance. Second of all, stop engaging him in melee! Just grab the blade the sorcerer has and let's go for the exit! The Necron is too strong!" The Phoenix Lord unleashed a charged scatter-beam version of his rifle that took out like half of the scarab swarm and deformed various pieces of the Overlord from the side. The living metal already started fixing him, still standing in the path just with a much smaller swarm of scarabs now. Believing this to be his moment, the Fury daemon enhanced with crystalline fists approached once more, only to be this time grabbed by the neck with the empty hand of the Necrontyr. Before the scythe came down. Just as the others before - he merely disappeared, instead of leaving a corpse behind.

Speaking of which, the Sorcerer had truly finally enough and emit literally blue laser beams that shot from the sockets of his eyes straight into the Ork. The choppa hit the Sorcerer in the shoulder and drew blood, but ultimately the greenskin with his beloved weapon was pushed off once more, this time with two holes in the center of his chest. He was alive and very well breathing, but it sure did hurt as hell.

The little tyranid managed to drive his deadly talon into the arm joint of the sorcerer that held the blade Iryllith wanted so bad, before being swung at with the Astartes-sized staff that caused the insectoid like beast to skid across the floor, ironically - along with the blade. The Tyranid was now lying between Ork and Sorcerer, with the blade right next to him. Irillyth, as well as the Sorcerer both started to hurry for it.

  3. Gerald, now hurting really really bad, and angry-really really angry- went for a charge right into the spikey git. Bringing his Choppah to bare and distracting the Sorceror from going for the sword.Using himself as a wall between the Sorceror and Jack. The pain he felt only enraged him further. He was going to make the chaos git feel it ten fold as he roared mightly and slammed himself into the Sorceror once more. "I AINTZ DUN WIFF YOU'Z YET YA DAFT GROT!!! IT'Z GUNNA TAKE MOR DEN DAT TA KILL AN ORK YA WEEDY GRETCHIN GIT!"

Bellowing out a "WAAAAAGH!" once more along with a series of grunts and roars befitting of an Ork. Gerald was really getting into the whole Orkish mindset. Or perhaps the Orkish mind was getting into him more then realized. Hopefully he'd keep the spikey gitz attention on him and away from the gribblie, buying Jack enough time to get the sword and book it. He brought his Choppahs up and began chopping into the Sorceror once more. "DIS ENDZ WIFF YOU IN LIL PIECES YA SPIKEY GIT!!! NO WUN ZOGZ ME SHOOTAH AN LIVEZ TA BRAG 'BOUT IT! I'Z GUNNA START WIFF YUR ARMZ AN BEAT YA TA DEFF WIFF 'EM!!!"

  4. When his momentum finally dropped and wasn't skidding across the floor, Jack gaunt shook his head to try to shake off the dazed feeling he had. Until he saw the Eldar greatsword setting a few feet away from him, and a more frightening scene of a chaos powered space marine barreling towards him for said sword. With a shriek of surprise, he picked up the sword with his mouth by the handle and went towards the Phoenix lord to give it to him. "Hmmph!Hmmph!" he said with a mouthful of sword, 'take it take it!'

Seeing that Jack had the sword in his mouth, that they had just lost their Fury and feeling that she had lost quite a chuck out of her armour from the Warscythe, Alicia yelled to current survivors of the group "NOW'S THE TIME TO BLOODY GET OUT OF HERE, WE HAVE THE SWORD!" while following her own advice by retreating the way that they had came.
Seranos only stopped her retreat only when she got to a safer distance from both Chaos-Guy and Necron-Guy so that she could lay down some covering fire for everyone that had the brains to realise that fighting any more was just likely to get them maimed or killed.

'I concur, take the damned sword and lets get out of here now! We need better weapons if we want to win this fight. Everyone back down the tunnel we came from if they want to come after us lets make them swim for it.'

Finishing his speech William started backing up towards the tunnel, he was wary of turning his back on the Necron but eventually he did turn and started sprinting towards the exit. It was not like his bolter could have stopped the Xenos anyway. He turned back around to wait for the rest of the squad as he reached the tunnel but was ready to flee if the Overlord got too close he wasn't going to take any chances now.

Now he was slightly despondent of the fact that he had not been able to get melta bombs or demolition charges at the start of this mission, if he had he could have attempted to make the tunnel cave in as the group escaped and delay the Sorcerer and Necrons pursuit. Sadly it was not to be.
  7. "Everyone out!!"

He retreated backwards, following Alicia's lead and keeping up a steady stream of pulse rifle fire to provide his comrades with covering fire as they fell back as well.

"Enough play! Kill the Phoenix Lord already! He finally came out of his cover!" The Chaos Sorcerer roared to his Necron partner as he swung his staff in a defensive way against the angry Ork. Heavily wounded, but everything already clogged thanks to his larraman cells, he gave it his entire strength. They exchanged bouts, the sorcerer quite quick with the massive weapon and making use of the force-weapons hilt as much as the nine-pointed-star tip to block and counter. "You only delay the inevitable, foolish greenskin!"

With the little fire only annoying the Necron Overlord at best, he turned his back on the flighters, letting his swarm protect him as they got shot down by pulse, shard and bolter fire. He marched as fast as a Necron could move, which was not very fast, toward Iryllith and the Hormagaunt who struggled with the blade. The greatsword being made out of wraithbone was supposed to be light one thought, but it's inside was made out of something else - perhaps the ominous starmetal? It only resulted the Hormagaunt in barely dragging the sword on the ground, the Necron walking thrice the speed and closing in rather quick - relative to their position. And there was nothing Gerald could do as he was locked in, in combat with the Chaos Sorcerer.

The Necron readied his scythe not to kill the Hormagaunt but shoot Irillyth. The bright green beam came and the Shadow Spectre evaded. Another shot. Another evasion. But then the Phoenix Lord lost footing for just a moment and the green beam hit on the third attempt, removing kneecap from him and causing him to fall face-flat on the ground, just a few inches away from Jack the hyperactive Tyranid. With gritting teeth and the will of Khaela Mensha Khaine, the man of future legends continued to crawl forwards, towards Jack.

The Necron Overlord stood now above the two, raising his deadly scythe. "This. Is. Where. You. Die." And it came down in a decapitating strike down on Jack. However, instead of dying, a 'clang' was heard as the Eldar Greatsword blocked the scythe. Iryllith, on one knee, grabbed the blade and deflected the attack to his best. "We Eldar may have fallen, but like the Phoenixes we are - We will rise a new empire from our old ashes!"

Before anymore combat occurred a bright white flash illuminated the entire cavern, along with a flood of foreign memories. The events that were supposed to happen, they did flash before everyone's eyes now. How Irillyth and his crew, as colorful as the soul-transposed humans, met the sea-serpent. At his sides was one harlequin, a bonesinger, two guardians with different gear and origin of different craftworlds, there was even an Exodite huntress and there was even an Artisan with various tools amidst them. Also how they were surprised by Mantis warriors, overcame them, retrieved the blade from a human inquisitor and his delegation in a final struggle.

"By Irillyth retrieving the blade and having experienced the majority of events in similar fashion as he did in reality, order has been restored." Osiris explained to the group which suddenly found themselves back in her headquarters. "You did good back there, even though some of your friends have been wounded rather bad... The timeline has been restored. And more importantly, I could extract Irillyth from the alternate timeline, as well as the artifact for your future use. Shall you ever be in need of more firepower, I can bring you the Irillyth you met in the caverns to aid you temporarily in order to keep time distortions to a minimum. As for the blade... It is completely up to your use. I think in human tongue it is called the 'Crystal of Life'." She pointed at the blade that was in a weapons display case near the time-warp portal.

And so... The first of many missions came to a conclusion.

  9. "Well I'd hatez fer all dat ta be fer nuthin." Gerald grumbled, still green, still mean, and still really angry. "Kuldnt'z ya wait a bit tho?!? I'z wuznt dun wiff dat spikey git, 'e still had boff ov iz armz! An 'e wuz still breathin'!" He looked about the group that returned with him, his eyes squinting over the bunch of them. "You lot missin' en'nee limbz? En'eefing mor serious den a few bumpz or bruisez?" He looked down at himself, noticing a few less then pretty marks and injuries on himself. Somewhere at the back of his brain, he was really hoping these injuries don't transfer over to his human self. The two holes alone would have been enough to put him down for quite some time, or possibly stick him in an early grave. "Gud, kuz I'z red'ee fer da next fight, and we'z gotz plent'ee mor ov it ahead ov us." They weren't dead, that was good enough for him.

He clutched the top of his head as if he just suddenly came down with a splitting headache. "The others..." he started, his voice clearer and more familiar then it has been recently, "Tyler, George, Rico...are they...are they alright? Are they going to be okay?" He looked about the group again as if he was just looking at them for the first time, "Are any of you hurt?" Everyone else alright?" He looked over their squad, his eyes-red as they be-seemed to be a bit more sincere looking this time around, " Because I feel like I was just hit by a truck, and then immediately thrown into a train." He noticed a weird feeling like something was stuck in his tooth. He reached in to try to dig it out and pulled out what looked like a bit of an insect's carapace. "Jack, I didn't accidentally eat any of your pets again, right?"
Uriel1339, Maleth and BuriasDempsey like this.
  10. The first thing to register to Jack was a blinding headache. "Oh...fuck..ow." Jack said under his breath as both of his hands clasped around his head. Everything about him felt sluggish and dull to the point he was afraid his heart rate was too low till he realize this was normal for a human being. Though now everyone should be able to understand him again. "I think I'll be fine." he answered Gerald as he looked up slowly. Then his eyes rested on the giant grasping limb of a praying mantis. Though it was impossibly huge looking now with his normal human senses. "No I don't think so buddy, none of them are THAT big." He said as he shuffled over. 'God damn, even walking feels weird now.' he thought to himself. Then a new feeling struck him, one of absence. "Hey, where is Tyler and Rico? I thought they were suppose to be teleported here if there was a problem?" he asked Osiris since she was the one who would have the answer.
