"So why are you all shooting at the sea-snake? Also why do I get blamed? Are you sure that your yelling and such did not wake this guy from his beauty sleep?" Iryllith asked out loud as he looked up and down at the Sea-Serpent. Getting shot at was something the critter for sure did not like. Not. At. All.

With a ferocious growl and little of wounds one of the heads came crushing down near Alicia, her Eldar reflexes saving her life, while Robert got pushed against the wall behind him by a massive water stream that the other head shot at him. It was with the force of a pressure washer, pinning him against the wall and causing all sort of warnings to appear on his HUD. Including a water detection warning as apparently water made it into his suit, starting to fill up everywhere.

    @EverybodyElse
Not having much more heads or other appendages to do anything, the rest of the team was unattacked. The hyper-gaunt was just wildly jumping and screeching - getting a pat on the head by Iryllith as he stood idly by.

Geralds' Shootah did essentially nothing except the slugs bouncing off on the massive scaled head of the seadragon. William managed to follow a head with his gun, but it started to wiggle around, ruining any attempt of aim would he actually trying to shoot. Actually their heads were wiggling and shaking around enough that one of them crashed into Rico, causing the human-daemon to be once again slammed against a wall. At least this time instead of falling down, a stalagmite formation kept him in place and luckily did not pierce through him like a lance. The rest of the group was ineffective so far.

"You know, a warriors codex should at least dictate to ask the enemies' name before trying to slay them. I mean if you defeat this massive beast, what are you going to tell your friends and family? That you have slain a lake creature? Or if you cannot find it's name out... At least make one up. Something like Nasumyr or Nessareen." Iryllith suggested with a slight shrug.

  2. "If you'z be'leave in fate so much, why you'z tempt it loik a daft git!" Gerald yelled out at the Eldar, who decided on standing there like a chump instead of doing anything of important. He was mere seconds away from just tossing the useless cur at the sea monster and calling it a day. "Yeah letz me jus ask the zoggin fing it'z name. Gud idea you zoggin squig brained idiot!" Gerald looked at the sea monster and grunted upon realizing he wasn't doing much by shooting at the things head. He looked around and tried to look for something to do. His first thought was to just leap at one of the heads and start hacking away with his two chopping weapons.

He wrote it off as needlessly suicidal for no reason. And instead he looked around the cave, looked around him and noticed the gems. Those things looked heavy enough to do some damage. Especially if they happened to drop from a high location. And so he looked above the sea monster and started shooting at the gems above the monsters heads. If he was lucky, he'd be able to loosen a few of them and have them drop on the sea serpents heads.
  3. As Rico hit the wall he was caught between the many stalagmites that littered the wall. He let off another annoyed growl at hearing more of the Phoenix lord's annoying suggestions and comments. "Sure." He yelled over to him as he made himself comfortable and sat on one of the larger stalagmites with his left leg hanging off the side. "Excuse me giant multi headed monster do you by any chance have a name? Or perhaps you have many names? Oh and another thing if think we are trying to steal all these gems and crystals you are wrong we simply want to go to the surface trust me when I say we do not want any of them!" He said from his seated position mockingly thinking that the beast either wasn't going to listen to him or didn't even understand him.
  4. Seeing as how the weapons fire his friends had its attention more than his frantic movements ever will, he gave up and moved away from the serpent. He hoped he didn't need to remind everyone that most snakes can strike faster than most people can follow with their eyes. His attention was grabbed to the ceiling when the sound of bullets pinging off rocks filled the air. At first he didn't understand why Gerald would be firing at the gems and not the creature till he saw a few of the smaller ones give way to the punishing barrage. @GobMaw_HellSmasha "Geraldyourakunninggenius!" he shouted before trying he leaped over to a nearby pillar to begin his ascent to the ceiling. He planned on using the hormagaunts talents to dislodge even larger gemstones with the scything talons if Gerald's bullets could not do it.

With Alicia managing to avoid death by serpent with a quick jump away from the would-be crushing head, she could only see red from their VIP standing there like a useless idiot. Why the hell did he have the right to exempt himself from the battle when they were doing all the leg-work! After all, it's not like they were bloody saving him from being stuck down here out of the goodness of their hearts!

Seranos decided to channel that anger into action for the moment, focusing her weapon upon the crystals like Gerald, Rico and Jack were in the hope that they could bring down some crystals upon the serpent. As for their VIP, the fake Dark Eldar decided that she would deal with the Phoenix Lord's tardiness later... Commorite style. And that thought brought a smile to her face.

The words of the Phoenix lord had made William feel vindicated about his inaction against the Serpent, lowering his boltgun towards the ground he remained standing directly in front of Iryllith watching the creature for any sudden movements. In his head he felt that they had all been spending far too long in this cave system and the prior arguing with the Phoenix lord must have put everyone on edge, trying to get his thoughts back together he put voice to his opinion.

'I'm getting sick of these caves, do we have any idea where we should go next? Can anyone check see if there is a way out of here?'

William waved for the group to withdraw away from the creature quickly taking one hand off of his boltgun in order to do so. His face was a picture of pent up frustration, he looked around for any possible signs of a way out besides the way they had originally come as no exit corridor had been found so far William feared the worst that the group might have hit a dead end. With the serpent still looming in front of them Saxon was also concerned that they may have started a fight that they could not end so easily at least not in a way that William particularly liked.

'Leave the serpent be, we've better things to do than to get bogged down in fighting and risking our necks.'

"There is an underwater tunnel." Iryllith noted peacefully, watching with great interest what the serpent was going to do next. Upon the Orks shooting, it moved to the side to let some of the gems splash into the water and leave it unaffected. Both heads about to strike again, one went for the Hormagaunt - slapping him with the side of it's head, slamming it back on the platform and letting him land next to his ork buddy. However, the second head went with great interest right before the daemon. Staring down at him and opening the water-dripping maw wide open as if going to either gobble him up or shoot one of it's water-lasers again. But instead, words came out of the mouth.

"Not even I care for the gemstones! But you merely enter my domain, and when I appear to introduce myself I get shot at!" The creature complained. Iryllith engaged with his jetpack and went in-between the Fury and the Sea-Serpent.

"You are great Merhandrias, no? I came here to seek you and Khaine's Fifth Blade. The tales were vague, but I hoped that my scriptor deciphered the myth correctly and we came here." The Phoenix Lord explained and the serpent seized combat, the two of them chatted a bit back and forth about an apparent blade called "Xama'thyr'.

"So yes. I was the guardian. Until just a short while ago it was seized by a Chaos Sorcerer and what appeared to be a Necrontyr. Much like your friend over there." The head gestured to the idle Necron Warrior. "But he looked much different. Either way. I tried to defend it, but their power exceeded mine greatly. They went through the underwater passage." The Sea Serpent gestured to the very lake it was swimming in.

The Shadow Spectre turned to the group, still hovering near Merhandrias. "Please tell me the sorcerer and the necron are friends of yours?" But before an answer could be given, several gems came to apparent life and formed crystal golems, leaping down on the group and starting to attempt in slamming them into the ground. The first attacked had been the Necron, George and the Astartes, Tyler. Two golems landed on each, slamming their crystalline stump-hands right into their heads. Before anyone knew, they vanished like it was nothing.

Iryllith gritted his teeth and shot one Golem into it's 'head', the prism beam reflected and punched quite a dent into the rockwalls. "I suggest the extreme force of melee attacks!" he announced and engaged, aiming to hack them apart with the sharp blade on the tip of his rifle.

5 Rock Golems; 3 attacking player group ; 2 wrestling with Merhandrias the Sea Serpent

    OOC:
@Valonox is out till August apparently, so I put him into stasis along with Keidivh. This ambush was planned I just use it along to get them out of the game so the group seems not unnecessary bigger than it really is.

Emissary's tongue the serpent can speak? William would have hardly had believed it were it not for the sudden appearance of the Golems now attacking the group. A little starstruck he stupidly looked around briefly as he tried to get his thoughts back in order, the new enemy was already upon them and even as William watched he saw George and Tyler being taken out almost immediately. Acting on instinct he assessed the situation.

Two group members down... not good. William checked his ammo supply before opening fire on one of the nearby Golems, noting that he was not being attacked yet he had time to correct his aim before shooting, but just in case he started backing off putting some distance between himself and the animated crystal. Facing golems didn't startle him but he was concerned about how big they were in comparison to most of the individuals in the group, if one drew too close he felt it might be better to run rather than to try and engage in close combat.

Gritting his teeth William kept up his barrage the explosive rounds of the boltgun should be enough to reduce these aggressive geodes to souvenir shop trinkets in a matter of time.
  9. "Hmm well sorry for the initial attack we were unaware of exactly where we are at the moment but irregardless could you please stop trying to kill us so we can deal with these golems?" Rico said from his seated position almost dumb founded that the creature or should he say Merhandrias actually spoke. After siting down looking at the hydra looking thing for a few more seconds he got up and extended his wings and flew down to where the golems were attacking the rest of the group. He decided to come down as fast as he could and see if he could shatter one by punching it as hard as he could with the added bonus of gravity behind his blow.
    Uriel1339 and BuriasDempsey like this.
  10. Even still dazed by the strike of the now talking hyrda, which confused him cause it arose in a pose to strike at them yet wanted to talk, he was still present enough to see the crystal golems smash his friend and george into thin air. "TylerNO!" Jack screeched before leaping up to tackle the golem that had done in Tyler, hoping to use the momentum and bodyweight to plunge the talons into a weakspot.
