You made my day, Lotus And saved this thread from me re-phrasing all I've already wrote. Also, I'm more a Slaanesh kind of guy, so blame him. Have an orgy or two and consider the AIDS gone Oh, almost forgot. Sometime this week, I'll have the armour re-design, if anyone is wondering.
I've just noticed something. To me the classic Eldar designs remind me a lot of Bronze Age weaponry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronze_Age_sword http://www.weapons-universe.com/Swords/Bronze_Age_Weapons.shtml The Leaf-shaped swords, the Sogel-type swords and some of the sickle blades. Could be just a coincidence, or me seeing a pattern not there, but it could also give some form of inspiration. I know that @Zavalus has his own design ethos, but even if this just acts as what not to do I hope it at least helps.
Overall I like your version of the weapons better, though unfortunately I doubt there will be any re-working of them.
Love all the redesigns, I myself have posted a few threads about weapon design in WH40k so its really cool to see someone actually design sci-fi weapons with functionality in mind ^_^ Even without that, they look better, more sleek and streamlined. Eldar should be the Apple equivelent (iEldar) of the factions and I definatly think you captured that in your redesigns
Please do not compare the Eldar to apple or only to speak about their greediness that was their downfall ! Apple feeds Slaanesh !
I adore the redesigns, keep up the good work! Hopefully the crew takes notice, especially on the Wyrmfang. As an owner, I'd be a dozen times happier with your designs at least taken into account. Maybe next you can work on some of the Chaos weapons/armor, please Papa Nurgle and those other useless sacks of warp flesh people call chaos gods.
they will not stick to the codex but they will take influence from it since it is one of the few sources they have and they work very close with GW so you can be sure that they will get the weapons right ^^
