D cannons rip holes in reality and suck enemies into the warp in memorably horrific fashion. Fusion guns are wielded by both fire dragons and Autarchs (Character Heros). Unlike a devestator (or even a squad of them), you likely will not be the only one wielding them. You will be in a grav-transport that flies almost twice as fast as a rhino, dropped in front of a Land Raider, and EASILY turn it to molten slag when you and 5 other melta wielding dragons blast it apart with your squad leader's fire pike incinerating everyone inside. (This is a common occurrence in Table Top.) Dark Reapers with weaponry that flays Space Marines - armor and all. This is a mobile heavy bolter (no set up required), that fires missiles that will almost certainly kill them instantly. Melee weapons are all great, essentially harder hitting than everything but thunder hammers and power fists.. but that doesn't matter, you'll hit them twice over with your speed. Then there are the tanks... and I'll be brief: Prisim Cannon: Punches holes in Dreadnoughts, Land Raiders, and even Titans - you read that right, mother F'ing Titans with equal ease. Oh yeah.. then there's all of what these guys can do: Enhance. Enhance. Enhance!
Yeh, your not gonna find much "Ommpf" effect with Eldar weapons. They don't really do all the obnoxious blaring sound effects announcing their righteous delusions. Think more special forces with silienced weapons. Even the goryist weapon they use fires mono-filament mesh to shread the enemy, so the only noise is the screaming (if the lungs still work).
Sold. By "oomph" I didn't mean the sound of the weapon so much as the feel. A bolt weapon is both visually and viscerally powerful. But let's say if a fusion pistol acts like a revolver I'd be pleased with it. Would just need to have a decent damage and a feeling of doing something heavy to the enemy.
A fusion weapon is like you hold a detonator to your enemy's vehicles. It's a beam/blast but not as crazy as an Imperial version. But, you hit something and it goes up in flames. In the TT, plasma weapons need to roll a 6 to get "Explodes!" on a vehicle. Meltas need a 5. Fire Dragons need a 4. Anything but a 1 gets some really bad results with Fire Dragons
well that sux .... i bet jan Zarr and the othere named aspects wont be in the game to :-( man ... i was hoping to be a warp spider or harlequin :-(
