The creature stopped for a moment and then glanced up at Airthas. He found, it was not AS intelligent as the legend described. As soon as the fish was lowered its attention was turned from him. It swam up to her hand, watching her cautiously. It raised its head to the side of the fish. The reptile's tongue emerged and wrapped around Jyraielle's wrist for a moment before it was pulled back. In a single sudden bite the fish was pulled from her hand and was down its gullet.

Noctis nodded and followed behind her. The bird stayed just in front of him cheeping madly as she walked away with the occasional peck at her heel. It even hopped up at her as it followed on occasion.

"How fascinating! It would appear it hasn't the mental capacity to communicate telepathically, yet I can sense within it an form of cunning intelligence. Not the creature I had expected, but a marvel to be admired." He spoke in hushed tones, captivated by the magnificence of the creature. He didn't speak aloud and kept to himself. He wanted to see how the Scorpion and the creature interacted now that she seemed to be earning the creature's trust.

Su'iris simply broke out into a full sprint towards the ruins, the bird wouldn't be able to keep up.

Jyraielle nodded, satisfied that the creature was smart enough to take the fish ... and leave her hand. The tongue-testing - or tasting? or was it the sense of smell, like a snake? did make her a little more apprehensive for a moment, but she quelled the feeling, reaching down to hold out the second fish.

"Well, Seer, we have contact. What would you suggest now?"

Airthas's gaze remained fixated on the Guardian, studying it with analytic eyes. The creature was aquatic and mystical in design, matching that of the mythological serpents rumored to once prosper in these lands long ago. Only the Scorpion's words made him look away, but only for a moment so that he could properly answer her.

"Well, the stories say that those with noble souls shall find the key to the Guardian's favor. Now that the Guardian has been reunited with the cube, it should set us on the path to unraveling the mysteries of these ruins. Let us see what it does next. Amusingly, the fish seem to be a distraction in the meantime. At least we have gained its favor in that respect."

Su'iris and Noctis reached the ruin within little time. The cube she now held bore the emblem of a young fish, farm smaller than that of the previous she had found.

The reptile slipped its tongue out and wrapped around the fish, yanking it into its teeth. The next moment the creature was gone, having swam back into the cave.

Su'iris smiled as she thinks to have solved the riddle. Yet she only shared it so far with Noctis. "Life, The Circle of Life. Birth, childhood, adulthood, parenthood, death. Five Slots." The Black Guardian grinned wide as she arrived at the door and changed the cube she put earlier and put it into the third slot, putting the new cube into the second slot.

Jyraielle had looked to the Seer for answers, but he didn't appear to have any more advice. Having hopefully won the trust of the creature, or at least found out that it didn't want to bite her, she fetched the box and looked for it to show it to, but it had gone. She'd hoped to test if it was intelligent or merely curious, but she'd settle for non-hostile.

Returning to the bank, she shrugged and sat down on a nearby stone, trying to work out how to open the box.

Noctis nodded at the woman as the cube was slid into place. There was no reaction the moment the cube was set into its slot, likely waiting on the others.

OOC: It slipped back into its cave.
