Catacombs- "Hmmm...Aida lets go check on that rune again. Perhaps it'll open up something in this wall. Reaper stay here and keep watch in case anything emerges from within. If the Rune sets off traps nearby it I would imagine having the swifter amongst us about to deal with them would be better. " Teras set off down the other passage once more to investigate the Rune of Death.
It seemed that the creature had taken a notice of the Scorpion as it revealed a part of its head from the watery surface, its jaws and eyes moving in predatory anticipation and an inkling of curiosity. A smirk emerged on Airthas's lips just before he attempted to give the Scorpion a heads up, just in case she did not notice the changing currents in the lake. "Scorpion, it appears that the creature has come out of hiding prematurely! Maybe you should say hello!" Airthas shouted into the windy air with a hint of amusement, completely relaxed and unfazed by the possibility of danger. However, he decided to try and create a mental connection with the creature, reaching out with his mind to communicate via the wavelengths of the warp. He would not leave this moment to chance should his companion fail to communicate with the creature, or the possibility of hostility emerging.
The bird was persistent. it jumped atop her arm and pinched down on it, but found the armor more than enough to negate the bite. The bird moved further down her arm onto her shoulder and then began pecking wildly at the helmet and lashing out with its small talons. Another of the birds approached Su'iris' hand, and clamped down on a finger and acted as if trying to pull her hand from the cube. The creature drew closer, watching her closely. It began circling her, moving rather slowly, occasionally swimming directly into her, nudging its head against her legs, thighs, and hips, as if trying to figure her out. The rune was no different than what they had seen drawn. It appeared to be etched into the brick it was on. The brick itself, slightly brighter than the brick around it.
OOC: My post happened just moments before yours did, Jor. I apologize if there was any confusion. (I didn't get an alert for your post until after I had posted mine, so this is my clever excuse.)
That's fine. I just wanted to clear up any confusion that might have been created as a result of my post appearing a few minutes after Jor's.
Su'iris growled and slapped some of the birds off that were biting her hand, then just grabbing the cube and once it was in her hand she would descend to the Astartes.
[Jorai-thingie also approves. I often have to redo my posts when the pace is quick! Not that I really mind ] Jyraielle maintained her calm, watching as the creature approached. Whether or not she was involved in a prophecy (and the possibility was always there for the Children of Isha), it made sense to assume that it might feel her aura. As it nudged at her, she allowed it to test her, realising that if it wanted to hurt her it would bite. Slowly, she lowered the first of the fish into the water, holding it out on the flat of her glove, making sure to tuck in her thumb.
The Guardian grabbed the cube and made it down to the ground next to Noctis, only for a loud pecking from the side of her helmet to meet her ears again. Noctis chuckled at her. "I think you have a 'friend'."
Su'iris growled and grabbed the bird, putting it down on the forest ground. "Let's go. We have what we came for." She started to walk away. OOC: Not even a thought of Shin?
