Catacombs- Teras immediately took to studying the brick. "Maybe we can remove or press it....imagine that would set off all sorts of lovely traps though. I suggest we explore the other path before we go messing with this here on the chance this is just meant to be a, possibly fatal, distraction. "
[OOC welcome back Shady!] The Scorpion appeared to ponder that for a moment. She tilted her head reflectively. "Well, if you are concerned about your robes getting wet, you could always take them off." After a fractional pause she put her helmet back on and resealed it, the slight hiss a reminder that it would be water-tight. Her smile was hidden, but her good humour was not. "Fear not Seer, I have taken the time to catch these fish just for that very purpose. I will offer them to our lake-companion, there, and you may then do as you see fit." With this she waded a little way further into the water, preparing to distract the beast that was more than beast.
"Ha! These robes are the least of our concern, but I'd rather stay on the surface instead of getting eaten by the creature that lives in the lake. I've heard that sharp teeth is not good for ones health." Airthas chuckled at the dark humor that rang in his voice, a secret pleasure he often kept to himself. However, he knew that he also spoke with a measure of truth. If the legends were not true about the creature's intelligence, the Scorpion could be in over her head. But he trusted the old stories about the guardian of the ruins. Legends, while only offering little in facts after being converted to stories for the pleasure of the listener, often hinted to past truths long since forgotten in time. Completely confidant that the situation would turn out for the best, Airthas stooped down into a meditative stance in the sand while watched the Scorpion descend into the cool waters below. With a relaxed sigh, he once again waited for fate to play its hand once more. He just prayed that it was on his side this time...
~~ Su'iris ~~ The Female Black Guardian of Ultwhe climbed the last bit up and see into the nest, looking for one of the cubes.
-Lake- At the sight of the Scorpion entering the water the creature stopped, barely poking its head out of the water and stared at her. Its tongue slipping out of its mouth on occasion. -Su'iris- The nest was full of several birds, much smaller than the one she had seen, they were just slightly larger than the palm of the woman's hand. In the back of the nest sat a single cube, though the emblem on it could not be made out. Partially because of the angle it was sitting at, and the constantly moving mess of feathers that was the younglings. -Catacombs- The end of the hallway revealed nothing but a dead end. A wall stood before them, but, the building material was different from that which humans would normally used. This had been here for some time...
OOC: Whoops My bad. The tunnels led to some kind of entrance to a cave. The sounds continued to his left. He could distinctly make out the sound of two different creatures, though, they sounded to be of the same species.
Su'iris took a deep breath and relaxed, just reaching out for the cube, hoping that the armor would keep the birds away to cause her pain.
One of the birds jumped atop the cube and stared at her hand quizzically. As she drew closer the beast opened its beak and clamped down on a finger before releasing, squawking madly.
Jyraielle bit back her cheeky response about better her than the powerful psyker to take the risk. With a moment's thought, she did see the sense of that; and after a moment more, she would have insisted on it. [Flaw: Honour of the Scorpion]. There was no need to risk the safety of one already studying the dangerous and potent Witch Path. And, there was no way she was allowing one so venerable to put himself in needless danger. But first she paused, and took off all her extra wepaonry, grenades and pouches (except for a knife she kept on her belt for emergencies). Then she picked up the fish, and eased herself forward into the water and headed slowly towards the creature, holding them out like an offering. She kept her body language neutral, peaceful, one who intends to negotiate or talk. "I bring you a gift, Child of the Lake."
