OOC: Oops! missed that The flickering lights played havoc with the scout's night vision. Kai started switching between the helmet's vision modes to find something more helpful and stable, preparing to rely on other senses for any other changes. OOC: Still gonna check around the corner
"Ah but Zu'ark! This place almost feels like home" Razauil laughed and lead the team forward down the main hallway, trusting his senses (and Kai who was in front), to guide them through this maze.
OOC: They dont block 1d4chan though When Kai stopped to examine the corner, she found nothing on the side. The lights went out entirely and for a moment she could've swore she felt something breathing down her neck and the next moment the lights returned. Razauil pushed forward exposing a single large door at the end of the hallway, of which there were massive amounts of blood stains and claw marks, as if they were imbedded within the very door itself.
Kai begins to jump and slash at what might have been doing the breathing, finding nothing but the returning lights. Just nerves, but something was certainly off.. Shaking the feeling off the pathfinder moved forward and looked at the blood stains, trying to determine how fresh they were, and where the owners of the blood might have gone. Hopefully something... or someone... had stepped in it that might give a clue as to what had happened. Or perhaps dragged the victims away.. through the door or elsewhere. A cautious ear kept up with the scratching in the walls for any changes in the... rats. Please let them be space rats. "What do you think Razauil?" The voice stayed as soft as possible, trusting the helmet's systems to keep the sound from propagating.
"I think we are going to get jumped the moment we enter that room," the Dark Reaper replied, moving closer and examining the marks. "Zu'ark, things might turn a little nasty around here - there's a room at the end of the hallway, but I don't like it. Bring our Fire Dragons at front and get ready, perhaps you will be attacked from the side room, to cut our escape route." "Pathfinder, stay back a little. I don't want to sound rude, but I just can't imagine you dueling a genestealer with those pig sticks," Razauil said with a smirk, and moved towards the door. When his team was set, he was ready to open it...
"Understood. Elysavar, Saruhai, (and the one guy with Gr-something whom's name I forgot) you heard the man, move forwards, we cover your advance." Zu'ark ordered and walked one tact quicker, assuming the others keep up.
The door opened instantly. It emitted a creaking sound as it slid open to reveal some kind of warp tainted terrain. The "trees" (If one could call them that.) Had grown some kind of red flesh where the bark would be and the leaves now a dark red. The plants below their feet also a dark red. The only thing that seemed unchanged was the stepping stones that stretched all the way to the opposite end of the area. The area was illuminated by a red glow, likely from the light reflecting off all that which had been changed.
