Teras was too close to a nearby side passage to look upward and simply had to rely on the others paying attention for now. Once he was passed the shadowed gap in the wall he came to a halt and made a long inspection of the ceiling above them. He hadn't been able to identify the claw marks as anything in particular but that just made things that much more dangerous till they encountered whatever stalked them.
"Guys," Razauil spoke, angry by their casual approach. Only Zu'ark had some sense in preparing for fight, "do you really believe those were RATS!? On a warp-drenched-haunted piece of a Wraithbone fort? Raise your weapons and prepare! We do what Zu'ark said, wait a bit and let them pass. Then we move, and ready for to combat Genestealers" (OOC my own instinct) The Dark Reaper did what he said and waited for the sound to go further away. Once again there was only silence, and Razauil slowly moved further away. "Zu'ark, shall we go down that side passage or continue as planned? Those "rats" went towards the side, and I advise we continue down our path"
Saruhai also had that strange feeling of being watched when he heard the sound, he readied the fire pike once again in case it decided to attack whatever it was. His heavier armour seemed to almost be more of a hinderance than a benefit at this point, seeing as how they would need to be silent. But as he saw what seemed to be a support, he planted a melta bomb there, just in case they would needed a quick distraction.
The Fire Dragon turned his head toward the sound, trying to identify the source. He saw nothing, but the sound seemed eerily familiar. "Curse the Warp if those things are above us", he snapped and activated the Fusion Gun, "last time I fought their kind my armor was pierced from several spots and I am not having any of that this time." Genestealers, Elysavar thought, vile beings and terrific in melee.. And extremely fast. Oh how I am going to remember this mission with warmth.
Kai froze at the sound of the scuttling. There was no need to communicate anything, the rest of the strike force seemed to have noticed things around the same time. The corridors did not call for a long range rifle so the razor flail was drawn instead, its matte surface hidden under the cloak. With extreme care the pathfinder listened for any sounds along the upcoming side-passage and ahead, ready to peer quietly and invisibly around the corner if no sounds were heard. The practiced eyes took in where any existing light sources were, where the areas of shadow were, and anything thinking it could hide in the darkness. (OOC) Is it dark in these hallways, is there anything around the corner, etc etc Fingers ready to turn on the night shield if needed, razorflail ready to be extended
