Non-sense, there is already a drama here about eldars being few and "the skilled underdog"

    Glad to have done so.

Sadly, the 'assume' in your first sentence is a very correct operative word. We'll have plenty of wankers running about and sometimes it'll suck. From my experience on forums, similar environments, and at games, lore-loving eldar players are generally not terribly arrogant, un-fun (unless RPing), or any other such effect, but quite the opposite...to one another at least. Often times it feels like a separate realm within 40k altogether, but that's personal experience, they are far from perfect, and the players we'll fight with and the players I've battled with are not the same players. Plenty of our fold will be close to detrimental due to ignorance, incompetence, apathy, personal ambitions, etc. just like any other online game and just like any other team. It'll be better if we're smaller but this game will likely grow much larger.

I plan on taking my primary as an Eldar for the long haul. I aspire to either be damn good at what I do or perhaps do the same as a leader for a strike force or whatever else is needed. That'll be my serious self...

And then I'll have my alt-account as a common Ork boy, 'cause sometimes you want to not have to think (whether or not it's as an elf-dar) and just bash stuff. I greatly enjoy leading teams or playing crucial support in Battlefield-esque games, and I'm very good at it, but sometimes I just wanna relax and not have to worry about it as I take that role quite seriously. Can I get a Waaagh? How's about an Is-ha? (like hoo-ah...or oo-rah....but more space-elfy...we need a warcry too!)
  3. Well it depends on how they balance everything out what stats each class and weapon group . If they going strictly lore based than well you eldar can put up a decent fight if it becomes a knock down drag out slug fest than you guys are the little tug boat going up against three battleships armed only with a potatoe cannon

    Yep.
But as far as I get it, OP meant that all the 12 y.o. will go play (C)SM.
All the "LOL 40K MMO" will go play F2P orks
Because only completely insane hipster and outright dedicated ones going to play Eldar.

With in-gme implementation, really, the Eldar need to be the one faction that requires brains and insight, not forgiving any mistakes.
With abilities, irreversible decisions and all that goodness.

if THAT isn't arrogant i don't know what the definition mean..... man, not only hipster and geek will play eldar, motherf*cking space elves with siny armor, grace, pew pew shuriken and arrogance !
  6. That's a unfair comment to assume that all the mature players will play eldar and the jackasses and trolls etc will play the other factions and also unfair to say that the other factions won't require tactics

Nope, but you won't be seeing any 12 y.o. playing eldar, crying IN THE NAME OF THE EMPRAH! DIE HERETIC! at the top of his immature lungs.

Orks won't require tactics. Run forward, shoot as much as you can, chop all that moves. Move anyhing that doesn't! CHOP IT!
Power-armored fellows surely won't require tactics. You know, having the biggest armour, the fattest HP bar and the best medium-ranged jack_of_all_trades equipment requires little to none thinking.
Horny power-armoured fellows will require even less tactics. Because basically it's the same SMs but with subtle changes because of God Patronage. So more hp\Moar chopping\Faster slicing\Dickery is all there is.

Also notable that there will hardly be any abilities, as already stated in "What is combat like in EC" thread. Just running and shooting chopping and executing.
    Soooooo
I guess that those who will play the slippery, not tough not strong not numerous extremely specialized faction...
Either knows what he's doing or is going to quit it fast. And go play space marines.
  8. Yeah not quite the orks are gonna have to try reign in the f2p players and orks work in large hordes ie team work is key you'll see a lot of squad level tactics with the marines and as for the eldar community being mature just cause your warcry sounds a lot fancier than a human one doesn't make it any less immature or don't like anyone trying to rp I've seen my fair of immature eldar players so don't give me that speech

I wonder, are people gonna have cat fights like this after the game released? or maybe more? well you know like "unfair victory, today" "[races] are cowards"

All of the races are going to require tactics, just different ones.

I think Orks are gonna require the highest level of squad management challenges - their weapons/method of war might be a little more straightforward though - broad-spectrum actions, but limited ones, that you use to get a lot of things done.
Space Mareenz are going to also require a high level of squad management due to them being the most popular race so you'll get a lot of "LOL EMPRAH I AM 1337."
Chaos, I think, will probably be a mix of space marines and eldar - spells, pew pew like eldar, but big and tough like marines - maybe not as brave as SMurfs, but alas - It'll be interesting to see how they differentiate them (Like how they did in DoW 2 vs how they did in DoW 1)

I have a feeling the Eldar will play like the Warden on LOTRO in comparison to LOTRO's other classes - very advanced, sequences, combos, etc. Getting the sequences right will make them deadly but it's not that their opponents will be "auto-dead." Eldar should be exactly opposite of Orks - very specialized equipment that work in very specific situations better than anyone else - but mistakes not as forgiving.

    That's just my 2 cents.
