There are few reasons why I believe this should happen. -Survivability is too low for new players to learn how to survive* -FTP players aren't as invested in winning as paying players which leads to feeding and eventual game loss -Low overall survivability of faction makes TK easier which is something new players do a lot -Low overall survivability make teamwork and situational awareness key factors in winning as eldar which is something new players do not yet understand and because of * may never understand. The frustration playing as Eldar when your team is made up of 3/4 new players who don't understand basic game mechanics and refuse to cooperate to at the least try and win is 11/10. I would also suggest that perhaps Chaos should be restricted from the FTP model for financial reasons. The need to play the "evil" faction might be a good incentive for some people to spend that $20 and actually get "invested" in the game.
Well the solution is more of a "fix eldar survivability " Than anything else. Barring F2P players from the faction isn't the answer. What I want to know is when did Eldar become a noob fest? Usually they tend to crowd to LSM leaving only the really interested noobs for us.
That's a possible solution to Eldar survivability only. That won't necessarily improve other matters. I agree. The same time as it did for everyone else.
This post translates roughly to "Keep the noobs away from my elves devs! They are making it hard for me to win!" Barring new players(even the F2P ones) from any of the factions is a bad move. You should be glad that the least populated faction in the game is seeing some new blood. Don't drive them away, as they are quite literally Eternal Crusade's last hope for survival.
Thank you for goatmom. Also, new players aren't the end of the world. Either they get upset and leave the race or they "git gud" as people are wont to say these days. Every faction got them. I would jokingly say that Eldar gets them because of certain memes and people wanting 'easy wins'.
I was very conflicted until I came across this post. Whether they're in your precious faction or not, ANY NEW PLAYERS AT ALL IS A GOOD THING. DON'T DRIVE THE FUCKERS AWAY.
Jep, Eldar are a dying race. No new elders were born in this Dark Millennium to join the Eternal Crusade.
Established game lore has put the Devs into a bit of a bind with the Eldar. EC is a fast paced game and matching 1:1 effectiveness across races when one is harder to hit because of speed and size is always going to be tricky More classes adds more complexity for newcomers Obligatory complaint about Eldar cosmetics cost/complexity (AKA the only reason I don't play Eldar) Lowering the TTK has shaken a lot of things up. Throwing a bunch of new players into this environment is a recipe for mayhem. There's never a perfect time to trial new things in game development as there will always be issues. The timing of this trial is actually quite fortunate. It shows the developers a number of useful things at once. How new players cope with the game in its current state How experienced players handle the influx of new players What problems this causes What works and what doesn't And no doubt a lot more besides For some of us it might feel like a bit much all at once. For me it feels like the work of genius. If they can take all the data and improve the game even more, genius will be confirmed. Or maybe it was the work of Chaos all along?
