    Skill.
    Melta Gun.

It's one of those guns that's easy to learn but difficult to master. A Tactical Marine that seriously uses the rolling mechanic and Melta Gun can really troll.

But honestly, you have Dark Reapers for range, Dire Avengers for tactical, Swooping Hawks for flight and Warlocks for support. That's a good number of bases covered (and pretty well too!).

Honestly, Fusion Guns (and other Fire Dragon) weaponry will probably end up being given to Dire Avengers, much like Tactical Marines can use Melta Guns. Anti-tank isn't worth a class all on its own if you're only allowed a limited number.

That said, you guys are missing out on melee, which would normally be performed by the flight class. I'd imagine that you'd probably get Striking Scorpions to fill this role in then? I'm not sure if it'd replace on of the four classes, if you'd get it extra or even if we really are just limited to four classes that don't need requisition.

Shoot when enemy is close. Abuse walls when enemy is not.

I'd enjoy seeing Scorpions or Banshees included, but I wonder if the Warlock is going to provide Eldar's main melee capability. It would certainly be a very interesting melee class compared to the others, what with all the psychic power shenanigans.

I'd more say Dark Reapers would provide AV damage. If the Devs tend towards the lore then you'd likely not see a Dire Avenger holding anything but a Shuriken Catapult, whereas Reapers (or at least their Exarchs in TT) have the freedom to load up with a Missile Launcher.

Swooping Hawks also generally come with Haywire grenades afaik (in fact they come with a lot of bloody grenades... demolition hawks man). Makes me think, Eldar are very specialised and rely on synergy between units. That could be the basic AV combo - Swooping Hawks use their haywire to disable/damage/whatever and Dark Reaper Missile Launcher does the bulk of the damage.

Doubtful. It's more likely that they'll play the support role (like Mekboyz, Apothecary and the yet-to-be-announced Chaos variant), which is mostly what they do on the tabletop anyway - provide support for key units.

I completely agree with you on the Dark Reapers, they'll probably be the go-to-class when you want something big blown up, but I can still see Dire Avengers, Swooping Hawks and even Warlocks get some anti-tank ability. Keeping only one type of weapon would sure be fluffy, but not make for very good gameplay. Besides, it's not a stretch that a Swooping Hawk can get hold of a Fusion Gun.

Yeah Eldar are definitely a sum-of-their-parts type of army. It makes me think as well - Eldar are probably the hardest faction to get right in this game. But yeah, if Swooping Hawks don't come with (at least the potential for) a lot of explosives, I'm sure there'll be a few annoyed Eldar fans.

I can see where your coming from. Maybe they'll come up with a concept which combines buffs and melee ability.

Your definition of Warlocks is more fitting to the Farseer in my mind, whereas the Warlocks are semi-heroes of themselves who mainly specialise in fighting - but also have a few psychic buffs and tricks up their sleeves. Psychically gifted Sergeants.

    sorcerors maybe?!

Speak for yourself. Most of the warlocks I see on the tabletop zoom forward on jetbikes in massive formations and punch Cthulhu in the balls.
    LokiWolfsfather and windbringer like this.

I remember that Warlocks have access to powers that can either buff their allies or debuff the enemy, which definitely sounds like a support role to me.

But to be honest, you probably know Eldar best. I don't play them and only know them from an opponent's perspective. "Psychically gifted Sergeants" sounds about right. Either way, they're going to have to find a way to squeeze in melee capability. That Scorpion's Claw is pretty nasty, it'd be a shame if we can't use it!

I hope so! It'd have been cool if they had an option to make Aspiring Champions into Aspiring Sorcerors on the tabletop (I think only Thousand Sons have them?). Unfortunately, Sorcerors are quite rare so they might be moved to a "hero class". I'd love to see psychic battles between Sorcerors, Librarians, Farseers and Wierdboyz though!

Ah the Seerstar. Well I never meant to say that a support class wasn't powerful! Hell, an Apothecary will probably be tough and Mekboyz get all those crazy guns!

    that would be sorceror lords...
