2 with all my might. I could go with 3 but i would prefer the opposite. They are non-human and should really look like it.
4 is the stuff the Warp is made of. We want Eldars, not freaking nightmare material.

Gonna go with 3. They shouldn't look exactly like elves but they still are close to them, even through their name.

They are (there was even one among the Ultramarine, the predecessor of Varro Tigurius as chief librarian, Illiyan Nastase - sorry, the only Lexicanum page which speak about him is in German), but still very rare and generally outcasts, rejected by both human and eldar societies because seen as aberrations.

As far as I can recall, all the fluff surrounding Human-Eldar hybrids is more than 15 yrs old, so canonicity of it is questionable, to say at least.

I don't want Eldar that look like thinner, taller people. I want Eldar that look a race apart. Similar yet different, hit that Uncanny Valley right in the sweet spot if you can.

True, and from a scientific point of view it is very unlikely, since eldar aren't mammals (just mammaloids, which I think shouldn't be sufficient to allow the existence of a hybrid organism).

There is that, but also there is also established lore in the Black library book 'Xenology' which goes into detail on Eldar reproduction and conception and makes it very clear that the Eldar are totally different to humans, making a human/eldar hybrid every bit as impossible as a human/ork hybrid.

Firstly the Eldar offspring develops in a very different way to a human offspring with genetic information being transferred in distinct stages rather than in one hit.

Additionally I vaguely recollect that they may have had a triple or quadruple stranded DNA analogue... basically they may look human-ish but they are really anything but. *

Now this topic has been raised before (which is hardly surprising since the lack of new information means most of the topics on the forum at the moment are circling back over old ground - sometimes for the third or fourth time!) but if we go by the established lore then the Eldar should 'look' like the traditional tolkein Elves (taller, thinner and prettier than humans), however this apparent similarity hides their truly alien natures, which are mostly revealed in their psychology and neurology.

    * Edit: Eldar are on record as having Quad stranded DNA.

im confused now ...are the hybrids canon or not?!?

CWE should probably be closer to 1 and the DE to 2 (more focus on physical activity, in various stages of 'drain'). The lore current motif pretty much lends itself to this. That's just my opinion. They are supposed to be elfy given that the name is used in Tolkien's high fantasies. But if you look through a history of elf depictions they either look utterly alien (even with wings) or nearly identical to humans.

    Not!
Eldar/Human hybrids were a hangover from writers hanging onto the familiar.
WH40k and the closely related Warhammer fantasy battles universe share many thematic similarities with other fantasy universes such as D&D and tolkien where half elves are commonplace, so it was a given that they would find their way into these games.

However as it matured the WH40k universe moved more in the direction of a self contained sci-fi universe knock-off rather than a fantasy knock-off and began to adopt a distinct and consistent set of sci-fi explanations rather than your traditional fantasy ones - So stuff like half elves and dwarves (squats) got left behind.
