That's kind of what uncanny valley is. They're SUPPOSED to be pretty, but in an offputting manner that causes you to become uncomfortable looking at them as a human. Because your brain is trying to fill in tiny details that on a normal human being aren't needed to be filled in. Their to thin. Their heads are too narrow. Their eyes are the wrong shape. Their foreheads are too high. The eldars alienness is not the in your face difference of the orks or the tau, it's a very subtle and unsettling 'not human' that takes the brain time to process.
unless you think that aliens look better than humans and your brain revels in the "not human" aspects... maybe then love can bloom on the battlefield?
I'm not sure if I understand this correctly. Are you saying DOW Eldars look like uncanny valley? Because I'm not getting that impression when I look at that art work. Looks normal in the aesthetics department. Miime looks more what you're describing than the Eldar shown above. She is depicted as more distinctly alien, and is the last of the Nibelung species. Those reptilian eyes O_O Not my favorite look, because she looks stretched out. Yes he starves her, what a cruel Captain.
This looks like something I wish we will not look as. Maybe that style its made in. But her head is too "Small" and "fat" and "fairy"
I don't see whats wrong with having Eldar look like Eldar, for my own preference. Does anyone want Humans not to look like Humans? Not to be churlish, creativity and speculation are fun, but we know what Eldar look like I am interested in an ongoing way with what EC does with them, of course, or I wouldn't be here
Those are to far in one direction. If you really look at the eldars faces in DoW 2 you'll notice that they are formed in a way no natural humans head ever would be.
I'm looking really hard, but I can't see it. It's not that noticeable to me. Slender features? Apart from that, you need a red marker to point it out.
