Greeting my fellow eldar! I would like to know how you visualize the general eldar appearance in EC. Now I guess that everyone agree on their size (bigger than an average human but smaller than an astartes), but what about their face's racial features? So I did some research on deviantART and found out three potential bases: 1) http://nadillpl.deviantart.com/art/Elf-male-portrait-135670752 - the pretty caucausian (just like in WoW) 2) http://protocol-9.deviantart.com/art/Character-portrait-156181410 - the disturbing alien appearance (narrow face, hollow cheeks, slanting eyes) 3) http://yuliapw.deviantart.com/art/Farseer-portrait-243389666 - something in between (lesser sharp features than the latter, slanting eyes) Or perhaps... 4) http://www.heberger-image.fr/data/images/65490_ExoticEldar.jpg - something more personal 5) Being able to choose between 1), 2) and 3) at the character creation step
2. I can't see why you'd pick any other choice. Eldar aren't Elves from some b-class fantasy novel, they're utterly alien in thought and deed to humans and therefore should not be potrayed as being attractive to human eyes. ...Of course, to increase their appeal, the devs will probably go with option 1. Which I won't be too bothered by, but still.
2. all the way ! though I could go with 3. being the compromise between 1. and 2. But yeah, Eldar are Xenos, they shouldn't be very similar to humans, this isn't Fantasy setting.
Hopefully 2, with some variations to make it more or slightly less inhuman. Basically,I'd expect eldar to be eerily similar - definitely close, but with enough details to make it obvious that they are not human. Even if they are beautiful, there should be something within it that makes it alien and slightly off-putting.
Something in between, I don't want them to look like Legolas but they definitely should look somewhat human... is hard to say because GW has artwork that represent 2 and 3.
