What do you guys think, is this how 40kEC should also model their Eldar personality?

  1. Yes - Perfect blend of power and smug superiority

  2. No - They sound like posh douches

  3. I like it but...(Comment below)

  4. Don't care...XENO SCUM

I deconstructed your entire species philosophy and ideology in the span of a couple paragraphs and your response is to essentially hurl insults at me as some means to ward away the deadly light of reality.

Orks, in every way imaginable, are actually better then your species for all that both yours and mine sneer at them. They do not pretend to be something they are not, they do not look down on other races besides from their inability to fight as good as them, and yet when one proves their race can fight they show a modicum of respect. I long to talk to one instead of your preening pretentious species, sadly they usually prefer to talk with blades. For a race that prides itself on intelligence and it's superiority to other intelligent life when outdone in this regard your response is to....still insult them rather then own up to the idea that for once they might be wrong.

It's funny in an all too tragic sort of way.
  2. I just hope a female endar let me paint their toes, blue or pink to make them pretty, and no i dont have a fetish, I work at a spa, part time while on disability.

That's because your mongrel race only deserves insults and death. Nothing more.

"The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude." - Uthan the Perverse, Eldar Philosopher.

I like it but I'm not sure every Eldar should be portrayed this way. We as humans in real life are diverse in our thoughts and cultures. I think it should be possible to see humble, co-operative, forward-thinking visionary Eldar, intelligentish, cunningish, thinking Orks, empathetic, loving, peaceful Humans and xenocidal, racist, hateful Tau.

But writing all these races into a wall prevents character development in interesting directions so it's pretty sad and the stories can be lackluster. I'd think Eldar, for all their intelligence and spirituality, would be able to have an introspective discussion within their craftworlds and with other craftworlds on how they need to change after what happened with She Who Thirsts. The Path system just means Eldar are not allowed to have personalities much and I wish they'd find some way to deal with their passion problem. Like we have tones of medicines in real life that give people with personality issues ways to cope.

This doesn't mean Eldar should just be humans, I think they look down on humans because for the most part they are physically, intellectually and spiritually more capable. They should be proud but also enlightened and way better written in than losing to plot armor or pretty much being plot devices. =/

The issue is that I don't think our characters in EC will have a lot of personality or character development to begin with. So I can't blame bE if they decide to go for the stereotypical arrogant Eldar. Not to mention that like everything else, their personality is probably dictated by GW, so I wouldn't expect anything other than arrogant and spiteful Eldar. And to be fair, I think it's quite accurate. Aspect Warriors usualy aren't the ones to show their compassion to other races. Their entire life is dedicated to war against everything that can threaten their race. And in 40k, everything threatens their race.

To expand on it further, I don't think that Eldar consider themselves to be responsible for the birth of Slaanesh. After all, both Craftworld Eldar and Exodites weren't participating in Pleasure Cults as they were the ones who saw what could happen if such way of life continues. So they aren't humbled by the fact that their race gave birth to a god of Chaos(just like humans aren't humbled by the fact that most of the mortal Chaos worshippers are humans). As for their disdain for humanity, it's likely because most of the mortal followers of Chaos are human, and the loyalist part of humanity is getting constantly corrupted. It's only worsened by the fact that neither the Imperium, nor the Chaos worshippers know much about Chaos. So humans indeed look like children that try to fight, or even worse - worship, forces that they barely know anything about.

Oh I know it's unlikely they'll change in the game but from what I've read about the universe this all happens in, a ton of stuff needs to change lol.

Also rewatching the video made me realize those insults were lame. =/ Eldar should be much better at insulting people! =p
