Eldar Music

  1. Hello Eldars enthusiasts!

Of course it would be nice to have something tailor fit musically for each chapter or craftworld, but it would mean that we would need to divided our music budget into multiple tiny playlist.
It is already quite a challenge to divide our music budget into 4 faction (5 with the nids) so i'm afraid, no, we won't do distinct music per chapter, clan or craftworld.

And i must stress this again, we are not trying to have each faction with its own musical style. The common base for all the music in game will be orchestral. We are trying to give a different flavor to that orchestra for each faction.
So no the music for Eldar will not be fully electro-dance music.

But on the other hand, I find it insteresting that almost everybody are suggesting tracks with female vocalist. It was something that we already though about for Eldars's music. I have a very cool idea regarding that, but it needs to be approved at different level, first. So more to come later.

Again thanks for the suggestions and inputs, keep them coming! :)

Leave the eastern vibes to the tau. It seems you have forgotten that the Eldar are Children of the Dark Forest.
Skip through em if you please.
    slower picks up at 3:40

ignore that guy talking in the first 30sec.

theres a weird instrument 1 min in.

this ones freakishly Eldar if you read lyrics in vid description.

this is more what I had in mind for vocals, but angrier of course.

I hope the titles weren't too subtle. They aren't called space elves for just the ears.

As a movie Children of Dune left me unsatisfied - but I hadn't noticed how good that soundtrack was before - if they don't want to go with something weird and alien for the Eldar, then something like that CoD track you linked - combined with some female vocals - would be a safe and impressive Eldar score :)

Also somewhat off-topic, did you play a Resto Druid on Ursin in WoW? (Same name)

I enjoy the occasional dip in the ethereal spring when it comes to vocals, but I would like to make a request for the Eldar music to stay away from "delicate and wafty" and make sure it is instead 'strong ethereal', if that makes sense at all ... there are some good strong examples here already! :) There's an iron core to the Eldar - and they are at war on Arkhona - so I would not feel at all right with wispy, insubstantial and soft vocals. Because the Eldar have female warriors, it is entirely appropriate for some the voices to be female - half of them, to be exact, because the Eldar still have male troops. Don't forget about our boys in blue (or green, or red, or ...). Both voices twining together to evoke the spirit of battle would be powerful indeed. Let there be there be a choral magnificence to the music! Let it evoke the Seer Choir as they summon Kaela Mensha Khaine!

There should be drums. Powerful, primal drums. Drums that evoke both the shamanic hunt of Kurnous and the war-drums of the temples of the War God.

We have not come to be pretty. We have come to kill. The keening song of the Banshee is a world away from the lullabies of Mother Isha, as lovely as they may be. Khaine rules the Eldar at war.
