So the heavy bolter equiv is only avaliable to the Dark Reapers? Ok. Interesting. I wonder if that or the shrike missile thingummy or whatever it's called will be the default.
I think the Shuriken Cannon (Exarch) will be our Heavy Bolter equivalent, just like it is in Dawn of War II. The Reaper Launcher will probably be more like a "Lascannon" without the "Lock on" and with less damage per shot, but with roughly the same DPS. The Tempest Launcher (Exarch) is like the Plasma Cannon in Mortar Mode since it uses indirect fire, so I assume we will see that one in the game too. The Eldar Missile Launcher (Exarch) have a large variety of "war heads", so I should be rather adaptable but cost more points to field. But these are just guesses
I just read the lore description of weapons and sometimes the description/stats from the RPGs, since I play them but not the TT. So far as I know, the Reaper Launcher can be equipped with either use Starswarm Missiles (Anti-Infantry "AoE") or "Starshot Missiles" (Anti-Armor). It will be rather lore anal circumference when we will be able to play Dark Reapers, since they are said to never miss a shot Unless they give the Reaper Launcher some kind of "heat seeking"/"look on" ability against vehicles, but this wouldn't really be any less against the lore.
But on the other hand while Eldar have more classes with weapon specific requirements they are also less versitile, with far fewer options per class. So while to have a purchase item for every class would have a larger base cost, I'm unconvinced that buying all weapon types for all classes would be. Astartes would still have Melta, Multimelta, Plasma(pistol gun and canon), Bolter varients, lots of melee, etc etc. I haven't counted all the weapons, but it seems to me that if you tried to get all the weapon types for all classes that the balance would swing back away from the Eldar in terms of cost due to the limited variety per class.
Unless you can buy the Maugetar for 1000lps... then you go around killing everybody and being the god of death
