My 2nd in command lives in Australia and seems to get really good connection... Obviously experiences will vary from location to location. What is your downstream and upstream? What is your ping to 8.8.8.8?

There's this thing called the National Broadband Network, if you are on it your downstream, upstream and ping in general are fairly fantastic. If you're not.. well.. it varies..

There is A LOT of places that don't have access to NBN :T... My ping to 8.8.8.8 is 35ms according to command prompt and my down and up from East Coast US is 6.85mbps and 0.4mbps respectively.

Oh man.... don't 56k modems have more upstream than that? Sounds like they are throttling it for the sake of throttling it... I keep trying to tell my Australian friends they come from a third world county.

In Denmark I got a 5 mb/s down (measured 4.31) and 0.5 mb/s up (measured 0.36) throttle speed, though I am placed a bit closer to the servers.
My ping to Montreal (speedtest.net) is 138 ms.
