You should probably start putting things out there that haven't been stated several times, without any real evidence that's not conjecture backing them. No, a two-manned Predator will not be out DPSed by a Wave Serpent. If someone is in the Heavy Bolter and the Autocannon, you WILL deal more damage than the Wave Serpent. If you're not, you need to seriously look at who is manning your tanks, because they're a special kind of special. Want to see something that's not conjecture? Here you go: Banshee have 80 Toughness without armor and 120 with the armor that costs 400 LP. With a 300 power weapon and a 50 pistol, you'll have 250 to play around with. Is that a little too much to work with? Yeah, probably. The armor should only push the Banshee to 100 or maybe 110, then have an option in the Wargear slots to boost it to a higher level like that, if they don't want the extra Stamina/regen. They're meant to be squishy but deadly, but right now the armor lets them be what is essentially a Tactical Marine with more damage without trading anything in the process. See that? Wasn't hard. I took numbers in the game, stated my case, related them to other things in the game, then gave a potential fix to it, all citing statistics and factors that play with numbers. This whole thread is just needless whining about "waaaa, my faction doesn't faceroll this enemy in X situation, so they must be OP." This train of thought goes nowhere and leads to the current level of fanbodys that infect the LSM and CSM ranks. Want to know what I want to see? Some damn stable connection. You can't make a fair case on the state of a melee class when it's back to RMB spamming because the enemies keep rubberbanding and lagging all over the place once they start engaging in melee. Want to know something else that I've seen? Shuriken weapons are back to not registering hits. I'm back to being sub-par with the Shuriken Catapult and need to use the TLASC to outdamage a Tactical in close range. Most cases, we're both dying when I engage a LSM with my Asuryan's Fury due to lag. Meanwhile, LSM are still spray-and-pray with that ammo drum that everyone seems to want to ignore. P.S. I still haven't gotten a message from anyone. I'm really good at arguing an unbiased point for/against Eldar nerfs/buffs. I play both LSM and Eldar, and I'm quite good with both.
Banshees OHK. It's been happening to me all evening. I've seen multiple people in chat say it's happening to them too. The Shuriken rifles are more accurate, or the bolter is just terribly crap and not worth using. So yeah, I repeat - smaller, faster, as durable and hit as hard/harder. Not fun.
If that's the case, then staying indoors has to be a vital part of my plan when facing Eldar, which is simply not balanced on most maps. Most maps have a lot of open space and being holed up inside buildings is simply not going to win you the game. If that's what we are forced to do, just because the enemy has the Swooping Hawk class, how could that be considered balanced?
The main issue with Eldar is that their health and durability is far too fucking high for what they are, if they're going to be glass cannons to justify the insane damage and speed they need to be at least half the health/armour they are now, their vehicles can be as deadly as they are now and potentially even deadlier but they need to die faster, much faster and the same goes for infantry. You can claim 'skill' as Eldar when you manage to overcome an enemy while being frail as a downside for your power, not when you overcome an enemy while being extremely deadly at range and having the same durability as everyone else. Me having to put 12 bolt shells into a Chaos Marine & vice versa to down them is already ridiculous and should be lowered to something like 8 - 9 shots at the most, having to put 12 into an Eldar is fucking retarded. They sure as hell have the cannon aspect, the glass not so much. And to suggest that LSM players are less coordinated and less understanding of their factions equipment is a fucking joke, it reminds me of the shite arguments from the Planetside 2 forums, absolute retards using overpowered equipment and defending it by claiming skill, absolute bollocks. I probably wouldn't have too much of an issue with Eldar firepower if at the very least they had the common fucking courtesy to die when I put 5+ bolt shells into their frail frames. EDIT: Fucking this. I disagree in terms of balance but this post has never been more correct, even pubbie Eldar groups are capable of being insanely OP with literally no skill requirement because the weapons are so powerful, especially the vehicles. I've seen pub groups obliterate organized groups of people communicating via TS, even damn good players, simply because their weapons and speed combined with their average durability is too much power without any major downsides. Even more so considering the last patch nerfed the Heavy Bolter's accuracy but didn't touch the Shuriken Cannon.
So I just wanted to say here.... I'm not going to get pulled into a very long balance discussion, especially about Eldar, at least not anytime soon. I don't have the energy for that anymore. What I will say is this... When I see that my next match is with Eldar, I will cancel that match and continue trying to find another match until I am fighting someone other than Eldar. I've never, ever, done that before in this game, and I do it seldom in other games. I don't feel they are crazy over the top too much, but they are over my acceptable line by just enough that I'm always like, "...*sigh* let's fight someone more fun."
I've never implied that a two-manned pred will lose to a 1-manned wave-serpent. My issue is that the Wave Serpent, when compared to all other transport vehicles, does way too much damage. And on top of that, a Wave Serpent (a transport vehicle) should not be doing that much damagae to a Predator (a combat vehicle) to begin with. If you're going to paint the opposition up with "lol fanboys fanboys" then I have no interest in discussing this further with you. There are plenty of other people from both sides who are refraining from doing that, so I recommend you tone it down if you want people to read your posts.
I recall one instance this evening where I finally got the drop or maybe just found the one bad Eldar player on the enemy team. I fired one volley, then two, he realised I was shooting and ran in a straight line - all the while I was aimed and crouched firing directly in. He survived to melee and kill me. I was flabberghasted. Why are Eldar so durable? Why?
Sorry, there is no way in hell that the shuricat is more accurate than the bolter. I've unloaded entire clips into marines at midrange and barely broken through their armor. If I start a fight midrange as a DA, I need to use my full clip of my main weapon AND my full clip of my pistol. If you want some advice, don't spray-and-pray with the bolter. Do short sustained bursts. Watch your reticle bloom. You can even go into single shot mode (hit X). Also, try to make headshots. Trust me, it's all about your engagement range, and you can abuse that engagement range advantage with disciplined fire.
As I write this post, the eldar have already taken a territory from orks within 5 hours after the map has been reset. Keeping in mind that to my knowledge this is the first of it happening. I'm assuming that everyone knows how pathetic orks are at the moment so it merits some notice that eldar are currently "winning the most" if the world map is anything to go by.
Not sure if the world map is actually functional, but if it is: Look at it on the bright side, it's cold-hard evidence as to what we're all saying here, and the devs are probably seeing it too.
