They really just need to make Destructor an option in the pistol slot, as there is no reason at all to have both a pistol and Destructor.
Even as I mentioned this and asked this every frickin time for twitch and nobody ever answered me, if it would have been better to have Warlock using some kind of psychic energy as weapon, or maybe they make current Destructor a pistol spell and change Destructor to have "lore appropriate" effect. It has to be exploding bolt of pure psychic energy that has mid-range and AoE effect, not lightning.
A lot of the damage spells suck and need adjustment. Be happy you have Destructor and not Flickering Fire. For twice the amount of energy spent on Destructor, a Chaos Sorcerer can almost kill a single guy and in more time! But no, really...Destructor is the highest-DPS damage spell in the game right now. Stream of Corruption requires more time for it to actually get to dangerous levels and Flickering Fire seems like a meager DOT that either doesn't stack or has very little to no direct damage. I think all of the damage spells need to be looked at. Since support is the main focus for casters, then damage spells either need to be a lot cheaper in LP to bring, or should be at least as effective as my pistol. Hell, even if it has to replace the pistol in your loadout as a sacrifice for effective damage spells, I'd be cool with that. Destructor does have one cool thing going for it though: When you've killed an enemy, it pushes their ragdoll stupid-far away...I like to do that when I know other enemies are coming, so they see their buddy's corpse fly by them.
Yeah but stream of corruption (if the tracking works) doesn't require you to aim and kills the target with poison damage long after they have lost line of site. Also, it can't cause friendly fire, which is apparently what destructor was built to do. Also, the ragdoll pushing is vital to our many plans.
