There is another hidden nerf no one is talking about: Impact With the new patch, Maces/Axes are viable again. Which mean that I can roll around an Impact modded mace and just crush any sword user through sheer brute force. I've actually been dying to try it out but I can't for the life of me get a game against Eldar, since there is 0 Eldar/Ork players online.
@Faeruin for your insight, my dear, WP is none existant in the game anymore and have [not] been for a few months now. Most of our guild members got fed up with unnannounced and uncommented sneaky nerfs, lack of content, "We stopped working on the autarch cause we have a new map to make" and we gradually left. There must be about 3 members of WP still around, and that be Thana, Asheru and Krayt (who is also in BLOP). One may understand that with so few people, it's pretty hard to influence the devs to do stuff for the Eldar, whatever stuff that is. "Oh hey, 3 eldar dudes complained about lack of content, but 25 LSM dudes want to have the same running speed. - same running speed of what? - dunno, just giv'em Eldar speed. And CSM too."
I get what you're saying, but you're also discounting all of MYST, OBST, and WoK (now CrB) as well as people like @Iyan and @Eldritch, ect. There's more than just 3 Eldar around. The Webway was once a good place to gather them. I'd say it can still be used even now.
I just want a queue as anything button. I played for the first time in 3-4 months on thursday night, I was chasing whatever had openings for what seemed like 5 minutes. I eventually got into an Eldar match vs LSM or CSM, I wasn't paying that much attention. I had 7 MYST players on my team. We got off to an okay start with the MYST + me squad taking C point on olypsus somewhat early but then we just kind of stalled out on b point. There was only one person talking (I didn't feel like it at the time) and he/she wanted to split forces between the two remaining points. We lost the match soundly against pug. Anyway, I did alright with my kill count and got 2 achievements, which was slightly higher than normal but nothing like what people brag about on the forums. I think it was between 15-20. With the cap and kills I finished 4th on my team. All in all, I did better than I was expecting after so much time away + 2 balance patches that I missed. It felt like I was made of paper and would be mostly dead before being able to react to anything. (to be fair, I do not have the armor on DA unlocked.) I was playing as a dire avenger except for a brief switch to orangutan to steal a guava. I could very well completely change my mind after getting back into the swing of things but I currently agree with the Eldar that they are too squishy. I think the new vehicle-less map will be hilariously unbalanced against Eldar, since their lawnmower vehicles are really the only thing that I think are OP.However, by the time I got to a flanking position several times, the "anvil" or biggest part of my squad was already dead, and then someone would shoot me from behind (indicating that we were just getting killed from every direction). Disclaimer: I have 0 exp playing this faction with any organization so I probably wasn't participating as well with the MYST squad level tactics (and couldn't hear them). Disclaimer2: reminding myself that I can't base my opinion off one game.
Bring back the queue all button from alpha/beta. Dunno why that was ever removed, it was a good idea.
@Demetri_Dominov All the post in a Row so you get what they are talking about. @Faeruin It's been a while since we last played with +10 WP members. I can't force them to play a game they are not interested in anymore. it's also a reason why some of our projects EC are frozen. What happend in that EB match was a dissaster of poor planning on faction reps. If you feel screwed, then that's all my fault. It was ment to be Chaos vs Eldar, not Plob vs Eldar. When the change was made I should have informed the participants better. but the game admin at that time felt it was better to have A match then nothing at all. not to mention the Melta gun incident... Why did WP not participate in the GvG in mass? Because we had most numbers last match and from a beginning I was very vocal and in favour of rotating the most players and get all the community involved.
Have to admit, this patch is one of the funniest patches ever. It's like a Monty Python sketch applied to game development only that John Cleese and co knew what they were doing and bE unwittingly and involuntarily hit one punchline after another. To the OP: I admire the attempt but we all know how this rolls out. May I suggest a different approach? Play Chaos for a while and squeeze the little LSM lemons hard. Then bE is forced to tinker with the Chaos faction which will fall back onto the LSM as well.
Please take Power Ass off your head for a moment and turn off Logic Immunity void shield. bE always said that Eldar got lower EHP because of combination of lower hitbox, higher speed and(ever since brent times) mandatory requirement to ADAD to survive, it was LITERALLY said we are meant to strafe constantly to improve survivability by bE devs. With ADAD being nerfed by a lot and with increase speed clearly being gone(sorry, your denial won't bring it back) the only logical conclusion is to either restore our speed to what it should be OR to give us increased EHP to compensate for removed speed and ADAD, which, again, our durability was balanced around. I expect this to bounce out of your thick skull, but others might see the point.
ADAD spam is rightfully dead and no faction should rely on it. If anything, here is what needs to change: Eldar move speed should be as fast as MoS. ADAD remains dead. If it returns, then make the horizontal spread of classes that can do it unattainable. TLSC needs to pick an identity, either SB, or ASC - it's either going to lose some body DPS, or some headshot DPS, my opinion is body. It should not be possible to move and shoot reliably, it's move, shoot, move. That's how the ASC functions. That's how @Brent designed their battle focus and the TLSC is in clear violation of that. CQC bolter needs to get a headshot damage reduction. 83 is totally ridiculous and everyone knows it. Stalker Bolter needs to not be a shotgun, it's either moving, shooting, or gambling. Shoota should be like an LMG from The Division - the longer you shoot it, the more accurate and faster it becomes, but it starts off pretty inaccurate. Eldar can remain as squishy as the last time I played them, which is about a month ago. If they're now at a disadvantage because they're slower, then that's a major issue.
I did notice a diference, but there are so many factors. First of all: I still win the vast majority of my games. That is because I mostly play in a small, highly comitted warparty and we leave nothing to chance. More and more I start to dread games without this warparty as there is always a chance my team turns out incompetent and joining late into a match is an almost certain loss. -I think Eldar have a problem defending right now. We can still blow up Rhinos, but with more players going into melee there is a decent chance they just storm the point and wipe everything out. We currently lack the tools to stop an assault like that, our melee is not vastly underpowered but we do not have the capability to block or deny 3 raging raptors. -Against Chaos, I notice more and more teamplay on their side. A good chaos team can play whack-a-mole and stomp incursions whereever they occur. It has been widely impossible to counteract this, as we are not made for blobfighting. -In general, our enemies start playing AV. This was rarely a thing for a long time, only Fire Dragons even tried, but novadays I see plenty of AV-Rhinos driving around. A single tactical with a Melta-bomb is easy to outmaneouvre by simply staying with the serpent, but a multimelta and grav-cannon mean inescapeable death. -I feel myself increasingly forced to play powerful classes. Tempest Reaper, Double Dragon, Enhancelock and Hunters Hawk. Playing anything else basically means welcoming defeat, as we cant afford anything but perfection. From time to time I feel confident enough to let my team carry me and play Banshee, but I dont think I should rely on being carried to play a class I enjoy. -There are either not enough or too many Warlocks. Fighting a major battle without Enhance is basically pointless, yet I noticed a distinct lack of buff-bots in many fights. However, if there is one Warlock, there are five. -There is a certain cognitive dissonance going on: "Eldar are not supposed to fight 1v1" makes sense "Eldar are not made for blobfighting" also makes sense Both definetely apply and can be observed in the game all the time. Just...what are we good at then? Small scale 4v4 fights? All in all, I think Eldar pugs and noobs are more lost than ever, relying on the guidance of veterans as it has always been for all factions, just...more. At least they are somehwat likely to actually listen. Primarely ther eis an age old problem: Regardless of how good or bad the Eldar team is: -A weaker opponent is now very weak -A stronger opponent is now very strong
