  1. Archwin'd sighed at the Doctor's candor. Trying to get a straight answer out of him was similar to an interrogation. Only less purpose and more questions.
    "To be accurate Doctor. You were assigned to find the cause of death and the method used to do it. Since you refrained from bringing evidence, can you at least verify that it was not a Multi-tool blade that ended the poor creature's life? Also Sir Etrigen, while you are at it. Could you discribe, for the assembly, what you saw during the Saurid attack?" @DaKaptin

  2. Kurin watches the assembly quietly. She strokes her black hair and nods faintly at what she hears. She has nothing so say or to do at the moment but she takes in all she can if she needs to say anything.

    <Dr. Kour Arcadia>

    "I told you. Heart Exploded from the Adrenaline and Blood Pressure. Birth Defect. How much more clear can I get than that please? The method used? Do you want me to breakdown for you of how your adrenaline and blood pressure affects your heart into a faster beating? This specimen's heart was simply so wounded that it exploded from beating too quick, too hard. It was a natural cause of death."

    Kour rolled his eyes, was he talking another language now? And evidence? Well they sure can have it if they want it! He just wanted a quick explanation so they are happy and instead they believe to be deceived, he is no Cegorachian follower, what would he gain? After all it was Kour himself who reported to Archwin'd about Praetor, why would he gain first trust just to deceive with something completely irrelevant to him? He crossed his arms and sank in his seat, annoyed by this entire council already since he does exactly as wished and then being insulted like that.
  4. By this point, Calypsa was becoming impatient with the Doctor. Who seemed to think his job description only included to sit and look pretty at everyone's expense!
    "So your telling us, you spent absolutely no time looking at the corpse of the dead Alpha, yet still knew it died of heart failure? Kour, you had one job to do! If all you can tell us is 'heart failure' and 'natural causes,' then that doesn't tell us if Etrigen's fighting didn't lead to the heart failure in the first place! He'd still be under suspicion of breaking the law and we'll have wasted everyone's time. The only other business I wanted to address is the increase in Saurid activity since yesterday."
    Then Kythriel spoke next; "From yesterday's discussion on the Megadon herd, I believe we've come up with a few ideas for managing them. Which could help with the Saurid situation."
    Archwin'd looked modified by Kour's behavior, but knew they had more business to get through.
    "Please be patient, I'm sure the doctor would have included if external wounds caused enough trauma to trigger the heart failure, or if their was a toxin or poison in its system pryer to the event, or even if the hole in it's eye was worth mentioning. At the barest of evidence still doesn't implicate Sir Etrigen for the creature's death, if only unintentionally. Next time Kour, please bring the little details for the little people. As for the Saurid presence, please continue."
    "New packs have taken residence along the river side. They've begun constructing nests and have driven off the local river cranes. They don't appear hostile, but they do look hungry. The general mood felt is 'anger' but not with us."

    <Dr. Kour Arcadia>
    "Why so aggravated? I only deliver what you ask of me, if you want a detailed report, alright... But better pay attention because I am not going to repeat myself." He cleared his throat and then stood up, since he was going to gesture as he spoke.

    "First I scanned the creature for any obvious wounds, finding as most would, that the wound to the head would have killed the beast. But fact is that it barely did any damage to the brain at all, to the critical systems at least. It probably would just have gone unconscious because the Alphas skull was much much more dense than the other beasts. So therefore I easily could learn that the cause of death had to come from elsewhere and so I went forth with my investigation."

    "Second I was thinking that perhaps it may have been ill, so I checked it's blood levels, hormones, and all other sort of boring various biometrics. I even checked if it had any history of traumas and other wounds which might have caused a disease or wound that could have killed it over time. Alas my findings found nothing unusual."

    "Third I went ahead and started to look more closer to the skin tissue and other cells, to find out if radiation may have caused cancerous objects that may have caused an early death for the beast, also this time I made a tox-screen to see if it was not perhaps murdered by someone else, like an Eldar that loves to hunt with poison or local fauna that relies on poisons to survive. Again. Negative." He took a sip from his water.

    "Finally I did look at my x-rays which I should have done from the start on, only to spot a lacking heart. I had mistaken another similar sized organ for the heart, thinking it was misplaced like a few genetical variations can do in some breeds so that a heart may be on the right side than the left. More accurate scans and of course finally cutting the specimen open revealed the lack of a heart, analysis of the tissue and prior veins attached to the heart then suggested the extreme high doses of adrenaline that remained as well as closer genetical tests suggested toward prior conditions."

    "Therefore, the decision of the specimen to attack in the first place killed it. Would it had been not that Eldar, then it would had been another combat within the pack or any other occasion that would have stressed the beast, it could have died during mating for all we know, it was a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode, just like the patience, or lack thereof, of our dear Calypsa." And with that he theatrically bowed to her and then sat down, shaking his head of the stupidity and lack of trust of those around him, instead of making this a quick and efficient process they dragged it out and made it painful. Fools, all of them. Perhaps except for Archwin'd.

    - Etrigen
    Things weren't looking good for him. Dr. Arcadia was far more difficult to work with than then he ever remembered. 'No wonder he never went to most council meetings.' Etrigen thought to himself.
    Calypsa seemed ready to attack the Doctor, kythriel seemed ready to move on, and Archwin'd made it very clear he didn't think Etrigen was guilty of dishonoring the council's ruling. Then Kouse finally spoke up and gave his in depth study of the Saurid Alpha.
    "That would explain its behavior and for the great concern the rest of the pack showed. They were desperate to feed the Alpha. Thank you Doctor. Is it still your intention to feed the Bloodtails? I'd be happy to help in any way I can. I want to be clear, I did not fight to kill the Alpha. With continued interaction, study, and time, I think we can live in peace with them. Might as well start with the peaceful ones first. Though, they might not stay peaceful when we start herding them." Etrigen says with a slight smile on his face. Anticipating the challenge of the Megadons.

    - Ajax and Kaija
    Moving through the crowd, both Anthion siblings made it in time to hear Kour's presentation. Ajax was facinated by the details, while Kaija yawned not caring at all. Ajax stood listening, Kaija moved to get a better look at Etrigen. 'If that silver plated preck thinks he can insult my father in public and hide behind his position... I'll feed him to the Biggest Dragon species I can find.'
    It was then Kaija ran into Kurin. She was running her gold claws through her hair, probably as bored with the Doctor as she was. 'Might be worth a mental probe.'
    "Morning, Kurin. I see you aren't to banged up from the attack yesterday. Did you see what happened? Ajax said you did, but he'd believe if you told him Dragons could talk."
    @Wincent
  7. Chairman Archwin'd raised his hand to silence Etrigen before he went off on another speech.
    "That will not be required, and if you would humor me by staying where you are. I'd like to take this time to address the whole chamber. My friends, our roots have been planted upon this world. Now is the time to spread our branches outward. There is trouble within the Dragon's Forest. We've been effected by the Saurid's hostile behavior in the past, but now things are changed. As Calypsa has reported earlier, they now have settled the far shores of the river. Contact between our species is now undeniable. For this reason, we must be patient and open to learning from the Saurid. In return they can learn of us. Not as invaders or killers, but especially not their prey."
    Archwin'd cleared his throat before continuing, looking to Kurin in the crowed for resolve. The looking to Dr. Kour and nodding.
    "To achieve this, an Expedition to study the habitats of the Dragons will be launched. Leading this undertaking will be our Doctor and Councilor, Dr. Kour Arcadia. This will be a dangerous journey, none will be forced to go. Those going will need to be skilled in survival and open minded to this world. There's still much we do not fully understand about this world. However, I think that makes it all the more worth while. Etrigen, you have been requested by the Doctor to accompany him. As for others who would join them in this expedition, please stay after this meeting. Meeting adjourned."
    It was then Kythriel spoke up.
    "Wait, I didn't get to talk about the Megadons! We've found their bones incredibly strong, but moving such large bodies after felled is still proving diffic..."
    "Great to hear things are going smoothy. Meeting adjourned!"

    OOC: Alright everyone! Time to get this safari started! Every player must join in the Expedition, no exception. Should you wish to take this time to make a new char to add for the journey, please take this time to do so. @E-50_Panzer .
    Once everyone has assembled for the briefing on the journey, you will be getting a few more details about this mission. Not everything is what it appears! Expect new Dinosaurs, modes of transportation, and enemies that want nothing better than to rip your face off. Pack your rifle and chemistry set, we're going to the DRAGON FOREST!

    He just wiggled slightly and playfully back and forth, waiting for the crowd to dissolve, ready to see who would see think him or herself fit and strong enough to accompany him on this dangerous expedition. But most intriguing was what the Harlequins would do in the meanwhile. "So, had been thinking about children yet, Archwin'd?" Kours eyes pierced Archwin'ds own, his face neutral to hide if he was asking honestly or if he was just trying to throw him off.
  9. Kuring smiles at the two, nodding softly
    "I had a part in the defence against the Saurids... Yes. Incredible animals but a hard read. I did read the mind of the alpha... So lost, filled with uncontrolled rage. Something was deffinetly wrong"
    She shakes her head before looking up at Leroy. She smiles faintly and nods to him. She folds her arms slightly as people sslowly empties out of the chamber. She wants to come along, if only to make sure the doctor does as he is supposed to.

    He was running, and he couldn't see much of anything, it was too dark. He had been running for a long time now, from what? He didn't want to risk looking back for fear of getting caught by it. He knew he was going to die, so he would at least know what killed him. DalRan stopped and turned around to face the thing, it was a Saurid, but it wasn't. It was like a phantom, a cloud of darkness, and it had two red, glowing, venomous eyes. Its' teeth looked like bones, sharpened bones of all it killed. It was going to kill him. This was no Saurid, this was death.

    On its' cot, DalRan's limp body had a leg jerk forcefully against the nearest wall.

    How long would he last? He was wounded badly, all the wounds DalRan had sustained when he... When he... What? He did not recall getting a large bite into his left chest or a claw strike to his left arm that tore away a good portion of his bicep, not to mention the countless other minor injuries he'd just seen. He delivered a fearsome right fist to the Saurid's stupid, lizard face. No effect. He started punching more, then kicking, rapidly the attacks were become more desperate. The stupid Saurid had done nothing to attack back at him until he took a moment to pause. It sweeped down with a left claw that hit DalRan in the chest. The flesh there was cut badly and some of it flapped like a flag on the wind, spraying his blood everywhere. No pain. What? DalRan felt no pain from this! He felt no pain from anything! Realization dawned on him, and the Saurid-thing slowly dissipated into nothingness. He saw a light, a blinding light that forced hands over his eyes.

    He opened his eyes as if they were opening for the first time. He was in a room, on some cot. He was thirsty, very thirsty. DalRan looked at the remnants of his body, just like the dream, he had major wounds in many places, albeit these were bandaged up and appeared to be healed. This time though, there was pain, great pain, pain in each of those wounds. He was going to call out a hello to see if anyone was there, but he coughed violently and let out a bit of bloody spittle. If anyone was nearby they would have heard the cough, so he laid back, closed his eyes, and tried to manage the pain in his left side.
