Hey man, no hard feelings there allright? Like i said before, the only thing that bothers me is the Eldar (and Orks, actually) have too much health/armor/toughness for what they're supposed to have logically and lorewise... so yeah i can't really argue with u on the weapons part cus, well, i suppose you are mostly right. And it truly is a sorry sight, having the Eldar so restricted in their outfits. Even as a CSM player i feel a lack of variety in decor; you guys are outright robbed of variety, period. And regarding the close combat...well, shit. Maybe both me and you are just shitty fighters or something, cus i swear to god them banshees and scorps just keep swarming the hell out of me, let alone the quazi-teleporting Warlock. Of course if i went 1x1 with anyone other than a Warlock i'd beat them most of the time, but that's how its supposed to be lorewise anyway. Eldar are just not a frontal assault army unlike the SM/CSM/Orks and aren't supposed, i believe, to be able to squash CSM/SM in head-on hand-to-hand combat anyway
Eldar start better off than most factions. Honestly I feel like in comparison to other factions, Eldar start out almost completely ready to take on... well everything without much need for progression. When I tried a few games after losing with virtually every other faction against them I felt I didn't even need to progress much further because I felt like I had everything that I needed. Sure you don't have the options of different weapons but it's rather irrelevant when majority of the choices are either not much better or arguably worse than what you already carry. I had power weapons ready for two melee loadouts all ready to go and the third option (Striking Scorpion) did so much damage with a chainsword that you could one shot unsuspecting players. In addition I had access to anti-vehicle with the Fire Dragon so there was no need to work for meltagun or multimelta. (In addition the multi-melta kind of sucks as the meltagun is just as good all without slowing you down or leaving you totally vulnerable because your a Tactical instead of Devastator.) For melee the only weapons Eldar could not block/parry was the fists or the klaws. However because those weapons are the slowest it's quite easy to dodge them when it's not striking you in the rear, especially as Eldar. For the Striking Scorpion, you didn't need to get a power sword as you can one shot people in the rear without the need for extra penetration. (And even if you don't they'll usually be pretty wounded from the strike) Coupled with the fact that Eldar melee faster than other factions with the ability to still parry more common, faster power weapons like the axe or maul, the inability to have a top tier melee weapon is effectively nullified and then some. All I really had to do then was play until I advanced enough to get better armor, but as I already slaughtering as is, it was just icing on the cake.
My main issue with the eldar is that they, in general, have better variants of literally everything. AV Weaponry? Fire dragon has the best "melta" in the game and its the default weapon. Anti-Infantry? Dark Reaper Missile Launcher has semi-auto and custom burst-fire one-shot rockets with pinpoint accuracy with a separate firing mode that effectively fires plasma cannon shots with no drop whatsoever. Every single eldar melee weapon One-shots from the back, and 2-shots from the front, seemingly regardless of your defensive stats. Thats basically it. Its annoying as shit though and makes it damned near impossible to beat eldar in 1v1 fights as anything other than jump assault :/
Fusion gun is the same as the melta reaper launcher is a shitty plasma cannon melee is bugged or lagged or backstab(stealthed maybe) or screamed or jinked Apothecary and assault are you factions main fighters GA shit so it make sense that they can fight Eldars 3 melee classes while tacs cant
Entire Faction: Increase movement speed by 10% except Reapers Decrease in Toughness - Eldar are supposed to be faster than the other races, yet I can never catch up to anyone if we are both running in a strait line. We might do things faster in game right now, but we don't actually move faster. To counter this, the toughness should be reduced. They use their speed to avoid getting hit cause it hurts more than the other races, but their armor is just as good if not better than Space Marine armor. Howling Banshee: An additional 5-10% increase in movement speed. Slight Decrease on the Howl's Effectiveness. Same flip animation as Dire Avengers when vaulting over cover. -Being melee only, and the Howl's effective range is rather small, the banshee rarely has an opportunity to charge in unless her main targets are already distracted. A recognizable quality of a Banshee is their grace and preternatural speed on the battlefield, and this is not reflected in the game as it is right now. Striking Scorpion: Mandiblasters need to be added. Other than that, no complaints. They fulfill their role as expected. The increase in Speed is enough to help actual hit and run tactics that Scorpions are known for so they can slink back into the shadows and stalk their next prey. As for how the mandiblasters work; they would go off automatically every 1-2 seconds directed at a locked on target, only when close enough, and only out of stealth. The blasters don't actually do damage, considering that could skew Scorpion's power in melee too much. Instead I propose that they have a suppression effect similar to the Banshee's Howl, but starting out very small, and increasing with every successful shot. Warlock: Have any power able to be equipped into any slot, minimum 1, and a bigger variety of offensive spells, and team buffs. Rangers: Add them. We do not have an dedicated sniper role in game, and the majority of the Eldar weapons are close to mid range. Warp Spiders: Add them. Their flicker jump could work like jet packs, but instead of flying around, you blink to a location where your reticle is. The maximum distance would not be to far, I'm thinking between double to quadruple the roll distance, but being shot at refills your bars more quickly, melee and explosive weaponry do not have this effect. Unrealated Note: I want to see Chaos Space Marines able to transform into a daemon prince. Only one at a time, and certain requirements must be made in game depending the which daemon mark you have. The race to get daemon prince restarts after he dies, and the requirements to become one must be met without dying.
If you believe in statistics then this is a false statement. For every good team that's crushing, like PG (those guys are good), there are PUGs which are going up against them and getting crushed. It all balances out into the population. With the current matching there is no tactical play. It is just random games. All you are measuring is the balance affect of the faction. The way the game is now all factions should be approximately 50%. SM don't get all the noobs. There are new CSM people who were asking many questions last night. There is something definitely wrong with the SM faction and it isn't the player base. Until you can choose your front, I mean more than just a faction like it is now with one battle zone per faction, we should not see the map change. Once battles can be chosen then the clans can start to do their pushes. They can affect the map how they want to shape it. Then the game would be about which faction has the best clans.
The Fusion Gun is NOT identical the Melta. How do i know? One Fire dragon can down a Rhino with a single full fusion blast. A Melta can do about 2/3rds of a wave serpents HP with one blast. Clear difference. Reaper launcher is superior to the plasma cannon in ever way, its rockets do more damage, fire faster, more range, more accuracy. It beats out literally every other ranged weapon in the game in effectiveness. Melee probably is bugged, doesn't change the fact that it is damned near impossible for us to survive once engaged in melee. Seriously, the moment we enter melee its basically a death sentence.
Nope. I'm playing both a dragon and a melta marine. Both weapons have the same speed. The reaper launcher has two fire modes. If you do a short charge with the first one, it fires a small missile, but it doesn't travel in a straight line, so it's no easy to hit where you want. No fast-fire like a plasma. If you do a full charge, it fires a full salvo of small missiles in an area. In the secondary mode, you must to do a full charge to fire a single 100% accuracy missile.
